Good Read, and I like what your doing here.
You may want to add that PPC/ERPPC hits will disable ECM for a short time.. Very handy for allowing the rest of your team to spot the Spooky Atlas DDC thats creeping up on them.

I just added a nice and new portion to the guide. I plan on adding a whole section on pilot skills, and weapon skills, but that is going to be very time consuming, so expect that in the next couple days. Anyways added some more mech info, changed out some of the images, fixed some other errors, and made the guide a little more readable. Enjoy, and feel free to post or ask me questions.

A new update to go with the new patch. My initial update got cut because of server maintenance, but got the other half up after the patch. I hope you all enjoy the changes and additions I have made to the guide. Sometimes proof-reading and second checking isnt enough to make the reading easier or catch grammar mistakes. Please feel free to ask questions or pick my brain on what my builds are for mechs, and what to prioritize when it comes to pilot skills.

I am not sure suggesting new players buy assaults is new player friendly. Assaults are slow, and just awful to take into pugland. Perhaps change your rec to Heavies? Heavies have solid armor and can brawl nearly as well as any assault, but with much more speed.

I personally started this game off (way back in closed beta) piloting the atlas. And that was back when they could only go about 30-40 km, lacked an ECM variant, and didnt have the quirks they have now. There is nothing wrong with piloting assaults at the start, as long as they come to an understanding of the role they are expected to fill.
I personally suck at piloting lights and medium mechs. I dont think I have a single game where I pilot one of those types of mechs and make a respectable score. But you put me in a heavy or assault mech, and I will usually go 1 for 1+, deal between 400 to 1500 damage and get half a dozen assists. Plus going from heaviest to lights is a much easier transition than going from a light mech that can easily hit over 100 kph, and move into a giant ****-brick house that can barely move over 50 kph and is the living equivalent to a barn for target practice.
This guide is for people who just arent good with lighter mechs. Whether new or old (with mroe focus being for new players) I try to make this thread as useful as possible.

Updated to MK 10, to include some of the changes to heatsinks, as well as added some of the newly added mechs to the game and added some insight for those mechs.
Hope you all enjoy my guide and I will continue to update as needed.

Just did another update to include the new Archer mech, as well as update a few small parts of this guide here and there. This guide is not forgotten, and will be updated semi-regularly as things in the game change.
