I had heard the opposite. My sources are metamech.com, the statements from comp team players on these forums, and the organization of player run leagues that limit Clan tech. What are your sources?

Sadly not entirely true, IS lasers have a hard cap at 1,500m Doesn't matter if its double your optimal or not. The lack of ghost heat is huge though.

I bought a -4N last night and commenced to tear ass with it, no skills, no mods beyond consumables.

You nailed it.

IF they either scaled the ghost heat back to 2 on IS or upgraded CLan ER large Lasers to 3 (I will leave pulse out of this one) then it would level out on its own.

The same thing happened when I bought my Timberwolf. Whoopdedoo. Good builds on good 'Mechs make you do better. Shocking. Doesn't make the STK any better than what the Clans have to offer.

I makes the warhawk cry in a corner, and soaks a silly amount of damage (like all stalkers) its pretty damn good.

You may want to fill out a bug report if it is still capped, should be fixed in the 5th May Patch.

IS are OP compared to Clans .. end of ... IS don't want PGI to look too hard into it because the nerf hammer won't come out ! Because more people play IS and so PGI won't upset them as the player base is already getting dangerously low!

CW is doomed tbh. because of all the failed attempts at balancing the game, mixed in with a poorly conceived game type.

The game itself needs a major overhaul in the way they do things and some pretty stupid ideas about how to work balance out!

It seems that devs in general just don't understand 'balance' in the Free to play market. In a normalised game where there are no micro transactions or other extra payment options it matters not about balance so much as people will just all play whatever is the most OP option! I guess the fact that IS is the most played faction has nothing to do with balance right? Thoughtso ....
