Cw Maps Could Replace Gates With Bridges

New CW maps could replace the concept of defensive gates with bridges. Have them span a large river that has dragon's teeth and boulders to hinder a water crossing without JJs. It would be much more fun to fight over a bridge than a silly gate that opens when it loses power.

Greetings,
PGI mentioned they were testing 'destructible' elements, one of these 'elements' was a bridge structure.
- They stated they damaged the bridge which had a 'Mech on it.
- The Bridge fell with the 'Mech, and landed on the 'Mech, killing it.
CryEngine can render quite a nice effect if all the 'bells and whistles' are turned on.
On a side note here, gates would be much easer to construct than bridges, engineering wise.
- If your going to make a bridge over an obstacle, it's best to have some section that 'extends' and 'retracts'. Offering access or deigning it to Enemy elements. Not all units in the BattleTech verse are walking types, most are wheeled, tracked, or hover. All requiring a surface to move over.
- Gates are great, but require the terrain to allow for there construction, and actually be a deterring feature.
On the note of replacing the gates with bridges, The gates now provide some form of blocking the view and detection of the Enemy. Remove that, and have a structure that can be seen over/through and all sorts of long range stand off battles entail.
- I have seen and been in 'Mech battles on long bridges across ravines, semi protected on the bridge by the spans and structure. Lots of snipping from the two sides, always with a bridge bypass avail, but slower and not passable by all types.
(from MW:LL, some unique maps and battles, all excellent.)
We do have maps with bridges now, the longest are on 'Canyon Network'. Passable by 'Mechs but designed for the high-speed mono-trains. (would still like to 'see' the trains drive through these maps while we are battling it out, requiring smaller 'Mechs to get off the rails' or be knocked off.)
Add-on:
Here's a few images of two 'suspension type' bridges from MWLL
(notice there's a height limit!)
Just some info,

Cool info 9erRed. Destructible elements sound neat, but not necessary.
This would be a large suspension bridge, with a fair amount of pillars and cover on it... nothing like in any map MWO has currently. No retracting, this isn't a draw bridge!

I like the bridge idea. perhaps like terra therma with a lava flow. You could get through by running but the heat could leave you crippled. Like one point under shut down. Thus the bridge would be useful.

I would like Bridges to be apart of Map design, but have GATEs & BRIDGEs, to offer TACTICAL paths.
You have mechs with JJs?
-you send them to destroy the Bridge and so they can still get ACROSS.
You have mechs WITHOUT JJs?
-you send them to destroy the GATEs.
