Too soon? Sorry, I laughed in my head, but I'm going to miss him.

Missing? not really, he didn't much the last years, he had his well earned retirement. And you can watch him all time if you miss him.

Dunno is it really to hate? I mean people die, and we did not personally know him. The only people actualyl trat truly would be sad are thiose not seing him anymore daily. those that truly lost a human.
If I would die, I would actually not really want everyone to go into sad mode, life is short its there to be enjoyed. And I would be dead, I could hardly care anymore when people actually have fun with the stuff I was part of in the past that brought enjoyment.

Yes, sad news.
But he was one of the only original characters the studios used to tie in the older series, and the movies, to the newest group of actors taking up the roles. I still remember the joy I had in seeing him appear in the latest two new movies. (the same anytime he appeared in other shows, it's Spock, wow!)
- Of all the original Star Trek actors, he's one that was used through out many off-shoots. From STNG, DS9, when his character showed up, the ratings jumped. (Scotty and Bones made single appearances only.)
Very rare to have a single gesture from a single character, (Vulcan greeting) be recognised all around the world. And actually have meaning in todays society, accepted as a real greeting. (and not just to nerds.)
First Star to the right, and onward to dawn Mr. Spock.
