I tried to play today, and very quickly stopped. It's been challenge after challenge after challenge, and they aren't limited to the weekends.

I wat that "pluck-your-back" guy in the RVN challenge. Piloted a RVN and mostly hunted unsuspecting assaults. Sorry xD

Also - when people see something for "free" (actually it isn't considing the time people need to invest) they get greedy - wether they need it or not - that is one of the major downsides of F2P (the other big one is P2W). Which is another reason why people start taking it personal.
Did I miss something - yes the Fun - cause there isn't any in that kind of challange.
What I don't get - how can anyone really think that a tournament which is designed to turn people into selfish grinder could do a game good which is based on teamplay?

and that is where you are wrong - it is NOT "for free" - you only think that and totaly ignore the time you need to invest. I'd rather pay instead! Just like I go to the movies and pay for my ticket instead of spending hours working to get in "for free".

There you go ;-)
In all seriousness, the challenges are mostly nice to have, but i tend to ignore the ones that provoke a lot of LURMageddon or Suicide-Bombers. Or i pick up my ECM-Counter-Lurm mechs and Long range Snipers to compensate (and still get a lot of grief). And when push comes to shove i just play another game for the weekend, or watch a nice TV-series and be done with the challenge and drop back in on Monday evening.
Still, i appreciate to have the option to invest time and get more than some GXP and C-Bills out of the game. My main point would be to make PGI overthink the winning conditions. Always liked "Win"-Only condition most, since players tend to organize and cooperate better if they don't have an personal goal. But this is also not without flaws due to Discos. And even if the Challenge then turns to "just invest enough time and auto-get the prize" (youre alls winnars!).
