Can We Let Pgi Know This Event Sucks?

This isn't fun.
This isn't what Mechwarrior should be about.
This doesn't highlight or showcase what this game can do.
I won't bother with this junk anymore. It's typical PGI half-assery.

I have 20 tubes and 4 MLas and do just fine.

I would love to see team damage become a visible stat... we had one challenge a while back where it was included as part of the scoring formula, so PGI must be tracking it.

PGI relents and gives us a reduced requirement of 1 Kill and 1 Assist after people has noted/complained/criticised on the unfairness of the old 1 Kill, 1 Assist and Must Survive.
People still ******* about it anyway. You guys do realise that PGI implements this challenge is also partially your fault, right? PGI supplied what many wanted, and they still get yelled out anyway.
Personally, I think the better compromise is to have:
1 Kill, 1 Assist - 1 point
1 Kill, 1 Assist, Win the match - Two points
1 Kill, 1 Assist, Win the match AND survive - Three points
Teamkill - Minus 1 Point
That way, players can feel like they have achieved at least something rather than (justifiably) rage about how they feel cheated out of points when they contribute a lot.

One game resulting in a maximum of 1 point just makes ppl grind instead of play.
It is work instead of fun.

Yeah, its derpy, but it creates a much more relaxed event when everyone isn't out to press the "FULL RE-TARD" button and go ballistic on everyone, including their teamates.
When everyone is going FULL RE-TARD, I'm forced into doing it as well, problem is, I'm really good at playing like **** now thanks to the level of DERP in the pub que, where otherwise I might actually try, during events like this I just kinda.. give up.
Only "RE-TARDs" press the "FULL RE-TARD" button.

My stats so far are as follows
Matches Played: 58
Kills: 83
Assists: 277
Wins: 35
Points: 45
So 58 matches played and I earned 45 points from those. I would say that this tournament is much less stressful than last weekends since the win condition was removed.
So what am I doing wrong that makes me not fit in with the whining crowd?

jesus christ did you even read what I said? I covered everything you just blathered. Let me reiterate for you.
1. Everyone is playing like an idiot to get a kill so you can't ignore it
2. Getting kills in an ECM light is a rare occurance especially when half the field is dual gauss or LRM60
3. Hard to get a kill in stomps that occur in higher proportions during events
4. There are far better point systems they could use, that they have used in the past, that encourage cooperative play
5. The idea of fighting your own teammates to get kills destroys the team aspect of the game
Who pilots a light on a challenge weekend? ECM? That's what DDC's and Helbringers are for. Fighting your own team? No. You just need more back armor and an XL engine. GET THERE FIRST, grab your kill and assist then disconnect. Follow these things I have suggested and you will be fine.

My weekend stats are very similar to yours.
Easiest challenge ever.
BUT also: weird challange ever.
Because of what OP wrote: "Right now you're rewarding people who play like idiots, who don't play to win, with free stuff. And you're punishing people who don't play like idiots, who try to win the match rather than kill steal"
And this is true: in all my drops, only 3-5 drops I saw a little sign of teamplay. True, in puglandia teamplay is very rare, but in this weekend there isn't at all.

ME! (quite) all drops in firestarter A and panther 8Z: pure killstealing: I have to do that, any sign of good teamplay has disappeared ...so...
But I always play for the win, too. I'm a good guy.

It's causing some serious burnout for me, where I don't want to play the game for nearly an entire week after throwing 110+ games down the toilet on a weekend, just to knock out all the challenges.
I'm sure there are players out there with godly skills, who just eat the high requirements up, but these challenges, even for a dedicated player like me, are unsustainable.

Yes, I think this is the main issue.
Having to achieve so many points, ppl is in a hurry to scrath and kill, asap. All wants match to finish as fast as possible to drop in another one.
While a good teamplay and a satisfying mw/BT drop is all other kind business.

oh, i hear....so ungrateful, so selfish, so spoiled. Did you throw temper-tantrums when you were a kid cause you didn't get what you wanted? Looks like you never grew up, cause you still do.
I play exactly like I always play. It's battle, combat, war. In war you adapt to what the enemy and your team is doing. Do you really expect everyone to pilot exactly the way you want them to in war? Do you really expect everyone to pilot the mech you want them to play? Use the weapons you expect them to use? Wow, you are really conceited.
Please, tell me what mech I'm supposed to take sir and I'll jump out of my game and take it next match. And could you please build my mech for me so that it passes your inspection. I wouldn't want do anything on the battlefield that would make you uncomfortable. Perhaps you want the other 11 mechs on your team to be your personal bodyguards. We'll protect your entitled royal xxx.
Here comes an enemy mech! Everyone part so that the Emperor can get the kill! Move to the side soldier and watch our glorious leader mow down the enemy himself!

That you have time to play 58 matches in 3 days? For the casual new player that could be 100 matches to get a mech. And people wonder why the player base is so small.
