Sounds stupid, doesn't it?

Please, make WINS the most important goal. I'm getting tired of getting yelled at for "stealing" kills. I'm just trying to win and keep as many team members alive as possible. But that goes against this weekend's challenge entirely: once I get my first kill and assist, I *should* DC to make sure I don't accidentally get a second. Is that really how you want me playing this game?

Most of the challenges I've done recently have been in a NARC+ECM Raven. It's pretty good for helping a team stay alive and focused, but playing like that does diddley for getting kills.

So please. WINS must be mandatory. If you want to add other conditions, make sure you have options for all useful play styles.

Edit: Actually, maybe add an option to donate kills? I really don't care if I get them on a challenge weekend, not when you need 50 points for the grand prize. I have commitments outside of MWO.

In order for wins to be a mandatory thing. PGI needs to first fix the MM.

On one end I get teams so bad, I am stuck doing the bulk of the work. (If not all.)

On the other end I get teams so good there is just no point in me being there.

But those two extremes balance out over the long run. It's the middle section where your skills will shine. (And mine will.... glint?)

That is assuming I get on even number of both. But sadly I end up with the "passive" team far more times then I get the "aggressive" one.

This is stupid. If you're that concerned about "stealing" someone else's kills, then start aiming for legs and weapon arms, or important side torsos for Clan mechs and likely IS standard engine mechs once you get your 1 and 1.

Sorry but wins sucks for these challenges. It massively advantages groups over pugs. Last challenge i qualified for points in 9 matches except for the wins... no fault.of my own qhen i am getting higest damage and kills for many of those.

Hate relying on a bunch of unknowns to win. Too high a levwl of Random is bad for a player in any game theory.

That's just it. I shouldn't be worried about stealing kills. Heck, none of us should be worried about kills with respect to prizes. If we are, and the prize is worth significantly more than winning, then teammates wind up competing against each other, which goes against the idea of a team. (Image football if the "Big Game" trophy went to the player with the most tackles, instead of the team with the most points. No one would play offense, and defensemen might trip "teammates" to beat them to a tackle.)

As for "highest damage and kills", my raven does maybe 150-200/match, and has a KDR of 1, which has been decreasing. However, it has a WLR of 1.26, which has remained steady. I only PUG. I focus solely on the win. (I still make mistakes though.) If I just needed 30 wins, I'd have to play 54 matches. This is PvP: almost eveyone's WLR is going to be near 1, because for every winner there is a non-victor. If one's WLR is significantly less than 1 while getting highest damage and kills, one's probably doing something wrong. (Firwuff, I obviously have no idea what your WLR is or your playstyle, but I've just seen too many people use their team as bait just to get damage and kills, not victories. I have often used/sacrificed my mech as bait to help us get a win. Teammates shouldn't be tempted to use me as bait just to get a kill.)

Yes, these challenges are very long, but I suspect that's what PGI wants: people spending as much time as possible playing their game. If one gets a point for every match this weekend, 50 matches is probably going to take 7 hours? If one is only 75% "efficient", you're looking at over 10 hours. Personally, I'd rather put in 4-5 hours overtime to get the cash to buy the mech. I'd still have 3-5 hours remaining to grind the Adder.

(Edit: corrected spelling of "instead". Removed 700 MC comment: I'd only have 190 MC left over after purchasing Adder Prime with $15 MC bundle.)

Edit: Group advantage: Since Groups and PUGs are no longer combined, there shouldn't be any comparison. An average player should have a 50% chance of winning or losing a game in either queue. Every time someone gets bump in the Win column, someone else gets a bump in the Loss column.

I'd rather just see them use the darn Match Score system. they have these convoluted "score" algorithms in a lot of these events and its just silly when you could say "get a match score over XX and get a point" this also helps the aforementioned "i did well but my team colapsed" problem that turns up. i've lost track of the number of matches i get a kill or two and 5-600 damage and lose.

just use your already in place match score, PGI. its already there.
