If there are House specific Mechs does that mean Mercs have access to them all.

I believe most of merc units were actually using ragtag mix of whatever mechs they could get their hands on through inheritance, salvage, market or theft/war trophy from the original owner (sometimes possibly also by desertion from military units) :) Only regular house units were given somewhat consistent equipment. And since we will all be playing mercs, I assume it will not matter who you work for, you always got to bring your own equipment ;) And if you are loyal, you may eventually get a discount on house-specific goodies later, but that is pure speculation so far.

I would say I raise a valid point seeing that Mercs have access to fictional black markets which would have House specific gear but would then make Mercs the most OP factions in the game once or if the clans get here.

I think it should be the opposite. Give Houses a reason to stay Housed

Interesting thought but remember they said that there would probably be a bonus for the houses that have low populations (because they would be low on resources... aka players).

There will be house specific things you can unlock...... namely decals, paint schemes and the like.

I would guess it would be cheaper upkeep costs for mechs. If they do go for the fluctuating prices with the houses, the reason to be a lonewolf or merc would be a steady price that is never going to change if your group, or you, are doing poorly.

Here is a crazy idea for all. If you work for a certain Faction like steiner you can get their equipment till they switch factions. Also a black Market which allows mercs and Lone wolfs to obtain gear at a discount wherever. Plus higher C-bills for they get paid big for missions.

There are no house specific Mechs. Some factions are more known to prefer certain Mechs, but it doesn't stop others from making them or them. Also if you put in something like this then it will only succeed at restricting us with what is already a small roaster to begin with. You'd have to switch factions just to switch Mechs, which would be utterly stupid.

I forgot to mention that factions will most likely discount their favorite Mech. So while anyone can get anything, you'll pay less for a Mech featured by your faction.
