Petition To Replace Stock Mist Lynx Prime Off The Trial Mechs; What Will The New Players Think?

Think about this PGI, what if a new player walks in, thinks that the Mist Lynx looks cool and pretty suitable to their style at first glance, plays a match, and gets one shotted by a locust? They might think something like P2W etc, as this mech just isn't suited for a new player. At least change variants to MLX-B (decent brawler) or MLX-C (decent sniper). And for god's sake don't put the MLX-A in place of the Prime. We don't need to make it even worse as it is right now. Just move the Prime to any other light mech in the game, even a locust if you have to PGI. It's not gonna be fun for any veterans, not to mention a new player. Do it for player retention.

maybe now the IS will realize that some clan mechs need help!

Well I sorta already realized that with the Adder (it's decent but weaker compared to other mechs), and before that I had to run through all the Clan trials in order to write via trial guide. I think I've hit a brick wall though... this Mist Lynx is just... I don't know what to say. Giving it any other weapon would be fine, but giving it MGs and easily counterable missiles by ECM makes it so much more difficult. Would be surprised if anyone got 100+ damage with this guy.
Tbh some Clan mechs were a-ok. Besides the four holy godfathers (HBR, SCR, TBR, DWF), Warhawk, Summoner (even trial for me), Nova, Kit Fox, and other mechs are decent. Even Ice Ferret, Gargoyle, Adder, and other variants of Mist Lynx are usable... but not this Mist Lynx Prime. Recommending all new players to stay away from this and use the SDR-5K(C) if they prefer such a mech style.

Btw, a Mist Lynx getting one-shotted by a Locust is basically the opposite of P2W. A better example would be: what happens when a new player picks a Mist Lynx and runs into an Arctic Cheetah, gets smashed in five seconds flat and then comes to realize the blatantly superior mech won't be available for another 9 months unless he's willing to pay some real money.

Yes some need help (including Mist Lynx) but with some little tinkering in mechlab it's possible to make this mech like 3-10 times better than its stock builds.... specially that A variant (as luxebo pleaded PGI not to swap prime to A I had to check it out and well yeah had to lol a bit, because it's just so BAD.)

Well there's your problem.
Nah ECM isn't the issue in here, some stock builds are just terribad.

trust me...there isn't much you can do with the thing to make it work...
If they just unlocked the Fing CAP and JJs!

yes, it's (i'm sorry i can't describe it more fitting) batshit crazy to run something like this.
myself, as one of the lunatic spider pilots wouldn't tap that.
even the most wacky locust pilots laugh at it.

New players won't realize which mechs are free/not free. I once had a guy ask about whether Catapults were free or not, and yes they are indeed. Though they will realize it later on when they don't quite need trials anymore.
Arctic Cheetah is gonna be even worse for the Mist, as that thing won't have a thing for it.
ECM is an issue, as not all new players will know of active probe. Plus with that range LRMs are basically useless. Yay one SSRM4 and two MGs, which do near nothing while the enemy can leg you at once.
Yeah PGI gave the build Loaded has put up there.
My key argument is not the Mist Lynx (even though it is quite a bit under a lot of lights in comp gameplay etc), but the trial is absurd in it's build. Even stock MLX-B/C would be ok. But giving two MGs and two ECM counterable weapons with no comeback except to go extremely close to enemies that can one shot you is an issue. If they gave C variant instead it can play as a useful sniper, like a faster Kit Fox. The B can do some work at close range too.

well, maybe. for experienced pilots who know what they want and need. but trail-'mechs are locked (and very likely without basic skills)
there's a difference between wacky stock mechs like the adder prime and warhawk prime and borderline suicidal mechs like the lynx prime or lynx A.
this is similar to the locust M (with it's 2 armor on it's legs) no one but those who want a dark souls difficult level would pilot this.
and no one would recommend something like this to "try out and see what that mech is about" recommend or showoff to other (probably inexperienced) players.
it's plain wierd.
all IS trail are heavily customised and min/maxed battletech heroesque warmashines, while all Clan trails are.. stock.. and stock doesn't always make much sence.

"Look ma, no arms" wasn't born out of me hating on a mech to hate on it. It's just that bad.
Who knew stock mechs weren't bad? (Clearly not PGI prior to Sept 2013.) It was a farming extravaganza back in Open Beta with the terrible stock builds new players were bogged down with...

Leg and then CT and then gg. 10 armor on the leg is just begging for a death.
Oh btw trials don't have access to efficiencies, something I hate. They should be able to use mastered mechs in order to see the full potential of their mechs. Plus modules too would be cool. Make trials strong enough for any new player to do half decent in.
I think as Deathlike has said just replace with MLX-C. Easiest way out. Similar to KFX-C but still.

It is high time PGI came up with Clan Champion mechs. The sooner, the better.

MLX-C
MLX-PRIME
I'm not saying my builds are great, but "they function" w/o much extra effort.
Although, the AMS w/o the ammo will throw people off... but it's actually just there for crit buffering (where the people shave off another .5 tons of armor is anyone's guess. (Maybe the side torsos?) Go figure.

There's actually "a few" that are good. The Stormcrow-Prime and the Timberwolf-Prime are the "best examples" despite them not being ideal.
It's one of those things you try to suggest to people when creating a CW dropdeck with trials.

I meant the current set of clan trial mechs. I remember doing over 800 damage in a first mach with Timberwolf-Prime. Now, the Gargoyle Prime has 60 CT armor (12 less than the Timber), 60 shots of LBX5 and 200 SRMs. Guess how well will it fare against champion Wubshee. One wub and your CT is gone.
Someone at PGI must truly hate the clans. Which is strange, because clanpacks are a major part of their income. It's like trying to sell a Dodge Challenger Hellcat but only giving the client a test drive in a base V6 model.
