I meant the current set of clan trial mechs. I remember doing over 800 damage in a first mach with Timberwolf-Prime. Now, the Gargoyle Prime has 60 CT armor (12 less than the Timber), 60 shots of LBX5 and 200 SRMs. Guess how well will it fare against champion Wubshee. One wub and your CT is gone.

Oh... that.

Farming got "upgraded" with the new trial rotation.

Of the trial mechs... only the Stormcrow-C barely qualifies for being the "best" overall option. This is just a quick look at the current list. (The next best is the Kitfox-C.) Of course... that assumes you "like" LBX for newbies. (I don't, but humor the idea for a brief moment.)

Otherwise... I'll just stop because I'm dead tired.

You know something is wrong, when the "next best" mech has ECM and 8000 AMS rounds :-)

Wish there was a "antimissile" C-bill and XP bonus.

I can't run this thing. It's simply near impossible; ecm counters almost all it's weapons, has less leg armor than any other trial, goes far too slow. Just move it out of trial rotation. It's not good for any new players in the game, which will struggle to death on this mech.

Think about this PGI, what if a new player walks in, thinks that the Mist Lynx looks cool and pretty suitable to their style at first glance, plays a match, and gets one shotted by a locust? They might think something like P2W etc, as this mech just isn't suited for a new player. At least change variants to MLX-B (decent brawler) or MLX-C (decent sniper). And for god's sake don't put the MLX-A in place of the Prime. We don't need to make it even worse as it is right now. Just move the Prime to any other light mech in the game, even a locust if you have to PGI. It's not gonna be fun for any veterans, not to mention a new player. Do it for player retention.

I had a blast with the Mist Lynx! It's one of the funniest mechs I have ever played (and I played every mech of this game) and doesn't even have the easy mode like firestarters and spiders (aka lagshield+crappy hitboxes)! :D

Forget the ECM, it's useless. You already have the BAP and you're so small that RadDep has the same effect if you know how and where to move.
Try this: 1x ER LL, 3x ER SL. Spend the early-mid poking and annoying the enemy, then go for their rear hitting from above. Stats: 42 matches, 37 kills, 1.76 KDR.

Welcome to every clanner who bought Clan wave 2!

maybe now the IS will realize that some clan mechs need help!

So you bought a wave 2 pack and you're stuck with the trial Mist Lynx? I don't think so.

Rewards locked to 40k/20k after 50 matches you maybe afforded a commando to get your income up only to be rekt even easier on the battlefield. Spoonfeds have no idea...

I still got that COM-1B I bought after grinding over 40 matches in stock mechs. And I don't want anyone to have that experience ever again.

The same thing is happening right now: clan trial mechs straight from TT are unusable in MWO.

IS champions are at least decent. Some of them are pretty bad ass - like the banshee.

The stormcrow prime should be a fixed clan trial mech, it actually has a respectable build. Maybe the timberwolf prime too. The current clan trials are just horribad.

Each and every clan trial mech is beyond terrible. I cannot imagine that a new player picks up one of them and does well in a match. I know I sure couldn't, and I've been playing since closed beta.

It is high time PGI came up with Clan Champion mechs. The sooner, the better.

The DWF-B is a real gem, seen two of them today. An LB10 and two ER PPCs, which isn't great but okay I guess. Two medium pulse lasers feel like an afterthought. And then four uAC2s, which is decent- oh, wait, those four uAC2s are fed by a grand total of two tons of ammo.

And the Ice Ferret? Good god, that thing is unusable. It's huge, has almost no firepower, and yet still overheats like crazy. And then the weapon ranges are all over the place with an ER PPC, SSRM2, and ER SL.

I played all the new trials today, and honestly the Gargoyle felt powerful and strong compared to these two.

Back in my day, we had the choice between four Single Heatsink mechs, each and every one stock.

We took our 75% earnings, and WE LIKED IT!

it is fun to play but not in stock form....

it is totally a troll mech but it sure is fun. I wouldn't mind an extra 1/2 ton or so though.

Arctic Cheetah is gonna be even worse for the Mist, as that thing won't have a thing for it.

Cheetah is faster, better armored, and better armed. It also has these really useful things called TORSO HARDPOINTS and its hitboxes will likely be better (i.e. arms won't be as huge from a relative standpoint).

The Cheetah is a 100% direct upgrade to the Lynx in every possible way, shape, and form, with zero compromises whatsoever in any area. It's as superior to the MLX as DHS are to SHS, or Endo is to Standard Internals.

No.

Keep the mech there to let the players realize that the fallacy "Clan is OP" is only true when you buy a bunch of omniparts to swap in for the best configs. Stock clan mechs with their limited ammo tonnage gets screwed with the PGI system, that's one of the big reasons people go to lasers.

So yeah keep the stock junk mech in there, awareness is a good thing.

The new players I talked to claimed it was easy to use and able to deal a lot of damage while sitting relatively safe behind cover. Plus, each side torso had more armor than trial Gargoyle's CT ;-)

didn't they tell you nothing about thier survival?
'Cause when I saw one, I was pretty happy to aim those side torsos.
And when I was in a light, it was quite easy to have those juicy rear side torsos, too.

mmmm... I must try dat ct's garg hehe
