And this timeline taken in stride, should help improve things.

Its clear that theres a "this is the wrong path" that goes on for a year and a half and a great "coming to jesus" moment in Sept. of last year.

We've come a long way in a few months. But it doesnt change the fact that there were many pitfalls along the way.

Woody Guthrie was not surprisingly, unmoved.

Wait, where's Deathlike? Has someone told him there's a thread with PGI hate in it that he hasn't liked?

I love personal attacks. They show character.

There's probably nothing ultimately that I can say or do to persuade anyone. It has never worked and probably never will.

Ultimately, it is up to PGI to say and do what they have promised and then it's up for the people to decide whether or not its acceptable.

The threads that spawn like UI 2.0 or the poor NPE is not something I'm doing... people are. They are concerned enough to say "hey, this needs to be looked at." Although I'm sure that they would be looking at it when they can, some of these issues (well, mostly the NPE) stem way back from Beta and have yet to be honestly resolved in any sort of completion.

Things that would normally accelerate and grow the game AND improve the "lower bound" of play is essentially critical to grow a playerbase. I'm still probably arguing/discussing stuff with some of the same people from that same time with the same/similar criticisms and at this point is a running joke.

So, I can only "care enough" to put my two cents in it and after that, noone honestly has to care. PGI controls their own destiny... not me. If they want to honestly prove what they are telling us is what we'll get, then it's up to them to put it up to a professional level... unlike essentially admitting that UI 2.0 has problems a year late. People were actually using UI 2.0 to say "it is/was acceptable". Clearly, it wasn't the case. Anyone that used the old UI 1.5 knew this. Yet, it continued for this long.

Really, my expectations have been set so low that "if nothing of serious consequence happens", it's probably better than another crazy bug (like today's CW Planet Picking for every Clan). But hey, what do I know? I'm just a guy.

Before I can write a proper response, I will need to know why you are dredging up an old story. As such, I suggest modifying your post and say why.

Otherwise, I will just consider you a troll and report your thread accordingly.

...

I've changed my mind after a brief scan of the posts. This thread is heading for K-town. I might as well accelerate that eventuality ... thread reported.

I wonder how may of you have kids... seriously?

When your kid does something wrong, you invoke "corrective measures" (which can mean many things depending on your beliefs) re-educate the consequences of doing it again and give them positive affirmation when they don't repeat the offense.

You don't keep reminding them what morons they were for making the mistake, bring it up months later out of context or run to your neighbors house (other forums) and complain vehemently what a rotten kid you have...

Some of you have this disillusioned idea that both PGI and this community needs to be reminded what fools they had been, the depths of their mistake and how stupid it is for us to remain associated.

Absolutely.... PGI screwed up and there is no denying that. That said... They have made sizable progress and continue to perform well above their previous metric set 2 years ago.

It's time to stop beating the dead horse already folks...

Being an informed customer and making your expectations clear is one thing.

"Wah I didn't get what I hoped for in this game, maybe if I ***** and whine and point fingers at every possible opportunity, I can ruin the game experience for enough people that it will fail. Then I can wait 15 years for some other company to try so that I can do it all again."

^^ That? That is something else entirely.

If you don't like the game, then drop it and go play the ones that DO meet you expectations. The rest of us are enjoying this one.

Or do you spend money to buy an advantage?

Not an advantage, put certainly to reduce the grind. I don't open any PTW mechs...I'd argue there aren't really any PTW mechs in game...and I don't use consumables.

Put I love the game, I love MechWarrior, so why not help support the product. It would be a bit selfish, short-sighted...arguably even disingenuous if I didn't contribute to the pot...the guys at PGI have to eat too.

Well of course it's violating the most important part of the CoC, reminding people about the past. In this brave new world MWO has only existed since after Transverse bombed. I'm surprised it's lasted this long, I wonder how PGI and it's cronies will try to silence dissent if this game ever gets on Steam.

That's my biggest fear... Not that MW:O will not succeed. More so the unrestrained vitriol spewed by every exiled jilted member who PGI failed to properly placate and who now live to be constant reminders of past failures and curries of hate and derision...

Maybe if there weren't so many past failures, followed by trying to hide said failures and attack those who simply pointed them out. Oh well, there's that saying about making a bed and sleeping and all. When you say that Founder's aren't your target demo anymore, you damn well better deliver another demo. How'd that 3PV work in bringing in the hordes of people from the gaming conventions who couldn't figure out torso twisting? Where's all the E sport coverage that was going to replace role warfare and depth? How is the NPE treating all the new players?
Once you try to chase off critics and make your forums a hugbox for white knights and whales only you create a group who has an axe to grind and with the materials that PGI has given them it's pretty sharp. PGI sowed the winds of fate, now they can reap the whirlwind.

No argument... That said, tell me how productive dredging up the past has been?

It's one thing to not sweep the past under the carpet and pretend it never happened and the active efforts many take to not only keep wounds fresh and festering but to demean anyone who has made the cognitive choice to move on.

That's the biggest problem with detractors... It's not enough they are miserable and can find nothing positive. They find it necessary to drag the rest of the community into the morass like they are doing us a favor.

A little funny how there's no news on the timeline past Transverse shutting down - which, IMO, was the low point before the split with IGP and many agree things started to improve slowly.

You mean like the Monthly Plan posts Russ makes? Those kinda "No News" items?
