SRM1. Wait guys, listen!
I know SRM2 is just 1 ton and can be fitted on even the smallest 'mechs, so why have something even smaller? Well, it would actually still be 1 ton, but have different values that give it a distinct flavor.
The big differences from SRM2 is that it would have half the cooldown(1, so same DPS), and no spread.
Pros:
Pinpoint accuracy.
Better cockpit blinding due to its rate of fire and accuracy.
Cons:
Weak alpha damage.
Rapid fire requires continuous face time.
Countered by AMS unless very close.
I can see potential uses for this. Especially for light 'mechs that can only fit a small amount of ammo, since the lack of spread would make every shot more valuable. Or if you want to make use of a missile range quirk and poke at a distance.
It would also be very, very cheap for PGI to make, since the 1-tube models already exist(Narc).

There is a severe lack of options for missile weapons.
We need MRMs for IS, ATMs for Clans (with 3 ammo types), and alternate ammo types for IS SRMs/LRMs (i.e. inferno SRMs, swarm & thunder LRMs, etc...)
bad idea is bad.
clan mechs are FORCED into using lasers due to tonnage constraints. And you want to nerf the only weapons most clan mechs are reasonably capable of using?
first you need to fix the reason why clan mechs are forced into using lasers and cant use anything else. then you can look at adding metagaming equipment like reflective armor.
the problem is the locked engine ratings on clan mechs. it makes clan lights unusably slow. it forces clan heavies and assault to laser spam because they dont have tonnage for ballistics. unlock clan engine ratings and clan mechs can experiment with weapons other than lasers.
"waa waa but unlocking clan engine ratings would be unbalanced"
so balance it. give IS the light fusion engine and possibly even hardened armor to help balance things out.

Reflective armor is bad, but suddenly Hardened is not? wtf!

not sure what youre going on about.
if all clans use is laser weapons then reflective armor is outright superior to hardened armor.
reflective armor provides the same protection for half the weight, no speed reduction, no increased knockdown chance, and the only downside is the extra crit slots which most IS mechs would be more than willing to give up to halve the damage they take from clan mechs.

The Blazer with it's stock powers of 16 damage and 12 heat (true edit not an sarna erata edit).
The Arrow-IV cause we need our Mech-Javelin.
The Return of C-ERPPC back to it's 15/15.
The PPC Extra Capacitator as equipment for IS with it's +5 damage vs +5 heat.

I'm really want the gap fillers that wouldn't be OP: Light/Med/Heavy Rifles, Light PPC, MRM, and Blazer cannon. They all have a role that is currently not met and wouldn't cause massive balance/meta swings. Plus, low tonnage ballistics are desperately needed.

Except face it if reflective armor became the go to for IS mechs you would see more ballistics on the clan mechs, because they would now be applying more damage to targets than laser vomit , or potentially could.
More likely you would see a shift towards those clan mechs that use Gauss most effectively.

What happened to early considerations of experimental / early testbed tech shop?
e.g. Light Gauss, Railgun.

Tumber and Long Toms are found on artillery pieces. Do mechs even carry them?
