Maybe it's time for "forever available" weight class packs?

IS Light mech pack
IS Medium mech pack
IS Heavy mech pack
IS Assault mech pack

Clan Omnimech pack
Clan "IIC" mech pack
Clan "Classics" mech pack (non omni two from each weigh class?)

I think a sigh isn't enough to express my opinion on the matter.

I'm not sure if you had paid attention as to how the Saber pack worked out. It's hard to determine whether it was as successful as the original pack, but it is what it is.

However, the theme of the Saber pack though was that the mechs were OF THE SAME TONNAGE.

Shadowhawk, Griffin, and Wolverine are all 55 tonners.

While I don't think it is necessarily a requirement (outside of being a medium - then again, it was only charged differently as such and I'm sure it could be reworked altogether), there is a consistency of the selling point that got it set up that way.

Still, I think it is more "profitable" for PGI to do a complete Wave 2 than a "Saber Pack" equivalent. Remember the bare-minimum cost to get the Saber Pack was $50 ($20 Locust + $30 Saber Pack). A Saber Pack equivalent of the $20 Panther and a Medium and a Heavy would be worth $60... assuming you didn't like the Enforcer or the Grasshopper.

Whatever I guess.

I seriously want an Assassin, badly. A fast jumpy SRM blasting medium is right up my alley.

Firing a single alpha from basically anything over 30 tons and detonating the Gauss to instagib the Hollander in one shot would be sad. :(

It would also be sad to see PGI inevitably give it only like 5 hardpoints or something just to really poop on it (I'd want like 7-9 hardpoints to make up for the fact that ALL OF THEM ARE BALLISTICS, ON A LIGHT MECH).

12 ballistic hardpoints; final offer.

All in the same ST.

Hollander? Piranha?

might be why my post has two identical weight mediums in it? And generally am recommending Same Weight Class mechs?

I just find that it's easier to just do a "Wave 2" pack instead. That was my general point. Trying to do otherwise would kinda make less sense at this point. TBH, I forgot when the Saber pack was offered.

I just don't remember the Saber pack benefits were that interesting outside of the mechs. Zero added premium time wasn't really enticing (I don't think the Shadowhawk level got any bonus premium time outside of the early preorder bonus). I'm pretty sure the Saber Pack was offered BEFORE the official Phoenix Pack release... and right now we're in the process of finishing out said release in less than 2 weeks.

It's too complicated at this point honestly.

there was only one level of Sabre offered.

And the main point would be to have a pack that wasn't 80-120 bucks to go between the big ones.

All in the same torso? So the enemy can easily destroy them with that specific knowledge?

I call it balanced.

I think PGI realized its mistake in offering the one time only Phoenix and Saber packs which is why the packs since then have stayed in place. That may also have been an IGP thing too. Companies think that if they only offer things for a limited time that it'll drive up demand. Sadly what they should have done is kept it, then offered it onsale from time to time to get peeps to buy. Why take away one of your biggest reveunue geneartors?

IDK...I kind of wish Heroes were limited time, with occasional revisits. Makes them more "collectible" and gives impetus for new Heros on the same chassis. But could see the pitfalls of that, too.

I've always like the aesthetic of the Dervish, and would love to see it show up in a mechpack, But at the under represented 40 ton bracket my personal vote is for the Witworth, which happens to have a WTH-2 variant created specifically for the Clan invasion (although I do like the Assassin too).

Can Hollander fire it's Gauss on the move? I thought I remember it requiring a type of deployment stance to keep from falling over.

Granted, if we had CoF/dispersion and reticle bloom, I'd be ok with the non-movement limitation(if applicable) being waived provided anything more than a slow walk created a large area of error.
