What do the (x) letter designations after a mech name mean?

Like CN9-A(C)?

I've seen I, C, L, and probably others. And what do they all mean? I know champion is C and has a 30% XP bonus...

Thanks!

I = Invasion, L = Loyalty, P = Phoenix, R = Resistance. They are just the special version of a standard chassis that comes with one of the mech packages that are on the main page. They've got special cammo and look (slightly) different than the standard version and give the pilot +30% c-bills.

*Stretches and takes a moment.*

Okay. Ready now.
In order...
(F) = Founder. Dubbed: "Operation Inception," this first line of mechs held a number of core variants not available to other players (for several months) with unique geometry (visual/physical features) that stood out as well as a different paintjob with high resolution textures. As an example, the Founder's Catapult featured a nose cone as a nod to Battletech's Catapult, a thing removed in MWO's designs.

(C) = champion, an idea to make sellable, pre-upgraded versions of stock variants.

(P) = Phoenix. An early release of previously unseen / recently reseen mechs. Came with a reinforcement pack later on for two more mechs just shortly down the road.

(L) = Limited Edition (Hunchback hero limited edition)

(I) = Invasion (covers waves 1, 2 and 3 though chronologically it's 1, Resistance & 2, Urbie then 3.) Releases of Clan mechs.

(G) = Gold mech donation reward. An IGP (game's former publisher) concept for donations. Though PGI has stated no intentions of making further gold mechs, it still allows their sale. Money now goes directly to PGI.

® = Resistance. A currently on-going series of classic battletech mechs.

(L) = Loyalty rewards. A series of customer appreciation mechs produced by PGI as an early release of some highly requested mech variants.

(U) = Urbie! A highly requested loveable underdog of epic awesomeness. Though hated by some, loved by tens of thousands more. Cheap, functional, easily produced (unlike most mechs) and something anyone could get with ease.
Spoiler

Edit:
Grid Iron LE (the Hunchback hero limited edition) now shows up as GI2 and GILE in different locations, rather than HBK-GI(L). (or was it HBK-GI(LE)?

With the exception of champion mechs... the remainder are all 30% extra cbills when used.

Oh, and I guess we can't forget:

(S) = Sarah's Mech, a unique Jenner to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Very true. Sadly I don't see them much anymore.

Chronologically that's between Champion and Phoenix for when the Sarah's mech came into existence.

Psst

PGI was writing it {R} to avoid that issue.
