Sadly his house continues to endure his consequences while he takes a vacation, surely to return when thing "get better for marik". But at the comment of referring to him as rootbeer, i laugh and can sleep easily tonight

The only hang up i see with it happening is a full single player campaign would retail for like $45-60 if it had good production values, where as a mech pack ranges from 20-120 or more, for a lot less work. It would have to fall under the category of selling huge volumes or appealing to a PGI dream of making a complete PVE experience to go with the game. Regardless mechwarrior lives on, even if not in the way some of us had hoped, it still does a better job of doing online game play then previous editions and its far better then the franchise being dead.
Yeah I know it's why I dont really have any real hope that the franchise will move on from a free to play model, yeah the mp is done better than the others, but I think a lot of people played them for the story, as I did, I never touched the mp, I was never a hardcore mechwarrior fan but the stories the music were wonderful. I wish the franchise never went this kind of model pgi is using.

I don't want to speak for Roadbeer here, but I don't think he wanted to be the spokesman for Marik. He didn't like making (and defending) positions he didn't agree with, but no one else would stand up.

Thou art thyself, though not a Marik.
What's Marik? It is not clan nor good,
Nor meta nor tryhard, nor any other part
Belonging to a Clan. O be some other faction!
What's in a faction? That which we call a davion
By any other word would play as badly;
So Roadbeer would, were he not Roadbeer call'd,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that island. Roadbeer, doff thy clan,
and for thy faction, which is no part of thee,
Take all myself.
I was wondering who would leap upon this. the OP's title just begged for it, well done.

And im totally an *******, but still within the realm of rationality lol. I dont blame all of marik for their situation, but i do hope that more sensible leadership emerges.

People turn out when they're winning. They get tired and disappear when they're losing. It's as simple as that.
Some Mariks may be stubborn enough to stick with a losing battle, but most aren't interested in getting stomped repeatedly in a video game. It's not fun. They know it's not fun. Why play things that aren't fun?
My advice: Negotiate a ceasefire before it's too late. Give up everything they ask for. Admit defeat. Clear the air and move on.
Also, fire Roadbeer and anyone else in a leadership role who pushed for this war which was clearly not in the best interests of their faction.
I wish it was that simple. A lot more to it than that. Most people would rather quit than surrender in a game. So they quit. So we end up with empty queues. I'm waiting for another ghost drop on a Marik world right now.
Marik needed a war with Kurita because that was the only big war open to them. Players need fights to fight - that's what they need to stay playing. You show up and there's nobody to drop with or against and you get bored and you leave.
At what point did Kurita surrender to CSJ or FRR to, well, anyone? Who should Steiner surrender to?
Don't be silly. There is no surrender in this game. Ever. People don't show up to win; they show up to play. The problem becomes 'how fun to play against is someone'. NS can attest that there are plenty of Davions who will show up and lose matches and still have fun, we did it with marik for a while. It's a matter of making playing fun for them.

What's he that wishes so?
My cousin House Kurita? No, my fair cousin:
If we are mark'd for LRMs, we are now
To do our clan loss; and if to live,
The fewer warriors, the greater share of isorla.
IlKhan's will! I pray thee, wish not one mech more.
By Paul, I am not covetous for MC,
Nor care I who doth feed upon my alpha;
It yearns me not if dezgra my mechs pilot;
Such outward things dwell not in my desires:
But if it be a sin to covet planets,
I am the most offending soul alive.
No, faith, my coz, wish not a warrior from Jade Falcon:
Kerensky's peace! I would not lose so great a batchall
As one mech more, methinks, would share from me
For the best hope I have. O, do not wish one more!
Rather proclaim it, Clan Mortal Combat, through my host,
That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his safecon shall be made
And cbills for jumpships put into his coffer:
We would not die in that warrior's star
That fears his trothkin to die with us.
This day is called the feast of Roadbeer:
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will feather his jumpjets when the day is named,
And rouse him at the name of Roadbeer.
He that shall live this day, and see solhama,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say 'To-morrow is Saint Roadbeer:'
Then will he strip his mechbay and show his loadout.
And say 'These wounds I had on Roadbeer's day.'
Solhama forget: yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember with advantages
What drops he did that day: then shall our names.
Familiar in his mouth as household words
Wingbreaker the troubadour, Tasker and Chef,
Stealth Raptor and Steelwarrior, TheDroid and Crockdaddy,
Be in their flowing cups freshly remember'd.
This story shall the good tryhard teach his cadet;
And Roadbeer shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the resetting of the map,
But we in it shall be remember'd;
We few, we happy few, we band of puggers;
For he to-day that blows his cool shot with me
Shall be my Bro-fist; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And scrubs in Community Warfare now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheese whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Roadbeer's day.

As long as it wasn't one sided yeah it's fun but way more fun to win you get so much more cbills...even though at this point it hardly matters to get cbills.

Just saying there will never be 'surrender' by anyone at any point in this game. Fun is great - but nobody will ever give in or surrender. They'll quit first. I just don't see it.

Thank you Mischief. This is kinda what I have been saying. It's still no excuse for our guys turning tail though. Only 1/4 the peeps that were clamoring for war showed up. Herein lies the problem. We chestbeated, and lost the chestbeat game. The guys that are still here are having a BLAST. But the Faction as a whole is suffering.

I'm not going to speculate on Road or any of the other leadership. But here's my view on things. HK talked a big game. A lot in Marik wanted to see them back it up.
And back it up they did, in spades. The problem is, all of a sudden everybody disappeared.
To quote pwnface from -NS- "You don't get into the ring with Mike Tyson, throw a rock, get your ass beat, and then say, 'well, at least we tried.'"
I get that a lot of NKVA are just dix. A few of -NS- too. But the dix can back up their talk, while we are just left holding ours. I admit I'm disappointed right now. At least some units are to some degree trying to save some face (sorry, lot of some's) in this debacle.
The only thing you lack good sir is an ]NS[ Tag and a pair of dangling fortitude...both of which you can acquire while joining Kurita! The DRAGON shall rule all!
