I've pretty much given up playing. Australian ping 280+, sick and tired of have to change my gameplay, can't load up mechs with what I want, ballistics etc. A real shame... I will jump on from time to time, but will no longer spend 1c on this game.

Give us (Australia, Oceania) some local servers...

Russ stated in the last townhall that you will be getting your own servers, as will Europe, and that they will all be available in a fashion very closely resembling how War Thunder does it; I can't recall if Australia was lumped in together with the asiatic area or not, though.

So, I don't know how this guy achieved it but I ran into a dude earlier today with 1300+ ping. HSR proved near-worthless; his mech was running in air and ignoring nearly all of the damage my entire team did to it. He actually survived the match in an ACH with my entire team blasting him, near point-blank. Also, the enemy team deliberately capitalized on his ability to invulnerably squirrel, and we lost something like 12-2. I'm pretty displeased with that.

Funny thing is my ping to EU servers is 250 and to US servers is 260. Which is odd since I go through Europe to get to the US.

Not strange, considering the amount of "hops" required to reach NA servers.

In my case i have 300+ on eu servers

Coming from the SEAsia region, I get 280 ping ON A GOOD DAY. (asia server next pls?:D) anyway, on an average, I get 300-350, which is still playable. Once it reaches 400 onwards though, that's when there's a noticable desync. Just turning 10 degrees to the right, it relocates 5 degrees back. So, yes, it's impossible to hit anything, even with compensating.

Playing from Thailand things go fairly well until 320ms.
I usually have 290-300ms lately.

However connection has been unstable spiking back and forth between 300-350ms since the patch. I am not sure if it is the game as my ISP has had issues lately...

Unplayable from 350ms+

Strange for me. I should be in the 170's - 200's for EU but the 240-260 range for US is normal. I come from Africa through Europe to the US and Canada.

For other games my ping is 150 -200 for EU and 250 - 300 for US. Once my fiber goes in this will of course change.

Pgi this thread is the biggest compliment to your game, considering how many 200+ ping people accordingly to this thread
are willing to take the struggle of playing with a horrible ping just cause they enjoy the MWO experience so much (as i do 2)
I played with 200 ping and it´s deffinitly noticable with hit registration from lasers (0.5 seconds delayed impact)

I play from a laptop that is in need of replacement. I run all my setting on low with the minimum screen size. So data rates and ping mean a lot to me.

I also play in a variety of settings since I travel for work and spend a lot of time on the road and in various hotels. These are not known to have the greatest connections and sometimes I am forced to play via hotel Wifi.

Best road experience I received was a wired Ethernet connection in a Staybridge suites in Dublin Ohio, right outside Columbus. Ping was around 25-35. Some of the best game play I had. Frame rates in the low to mid 20s, with the exception of Mining Collective, which just flat out sucks.

Worse I had was a toss up between the Elegante in Midland Texas and the Piccadilly in Fresno California. Both hotels are older and had no Ethernet conncection. Also their Wifi was pretty bad, especially in the evenings when everyone was trying to use it at the same time. Practically unusable. Pings varied from 200-300 all the way into the thousands and would lag very badly.

I have played on the Euro servers and I have a difficult time. I usually run in the 70-80 ping, on the NA servers, and unless I get Mining I can play pretty well. The Euro servers give me about 150-180 and the maps that play well, like Canyon and HPG begin to lag. Mining and Crimson are very difficult to play and the frame rate loss is very noticeable. River City is also slow, but usually when there is a lot going on. Otherwise it's not bad.

I realize that a lot of my problem lies with the hardware I am using, but I am a diehard Battletech fan and I love to play MWO, so I deal with it.

Once I get into the high 100 low, 200 ping range it is very noticeable.

PS...I have turned off everything running in the back ground on my computer. Task Manager and shut down all nonessential processes to free up as much memory as I can to try and help my computer cope with the game.

Game is great and playable/bear able when everyone is has under 100ping. At around 120 ping shots miss, plays react later, mechs walk through and block other mechs on accident. Game is UN-PLAYABLE over 120 ping. Noticed on the European servers, at 150 ping I couldn't do JACK. Game would delay when I hit the zoom in button, ballistics would fire late. Lasers would fire on time but often miss.

200+ Ping, game turns into slide show. As stated above, the difference in Ping makes a difference too, but playing with all 150 pingers was nearly as bad. Keep the good ol Canada/USA server. If I ever drop getting over 100 ping, I'll give up.

Ping doesn't seem to be a consistent indicator for measuring performance-changing play. I get 100-110 ms on the EU server, and don't miss a beat. I get 60 on the NA server (I used to get 40, what happened PGI?) and there are jitters all over the place throwing my shots.

30 is great. 80 is ok and playable. 100+ Things start warping. Like me. This is when lights become unplayable or unhitable and assaults phase through you. This is not the case every time but this is when the problems start.

I agree with Divine in that a ping over 120 is unplayable. I say that as it is when it is not fun and I quit playing for the night.

i am doing ok with 330 ping in the oceanic servers, some jitter here and there but otherwise 500+ dmg there. hsr seems to be working

lag spikes are a nightmare for me right now though, ping goes from 200 to 2000

Anything under 350 is Playable 400 it starts to become hard.

HSR work every well, when it works.

lag spikes are the real killer when it happens to you or someone you are shooting.

I would say when my ping doubles, I'll start to notice it effecting my gameplay. Though Most of my issue is from the 2.4/5ghz crowded trailor park neighbors. If I had a stable connection, I dont think it would be so bad. It's when I get interference and my ping rapidly changes. I get issues.

I swear they all use xfinity, so their routers take up double the channel spectrum. It ticks me off, to no end.
I mean seriously XFINITY 100's of trailors 10 feet apart, and they all need an open xfinity hotspot?????? along with the personal one they only use???? I tried all kinds of things, asking ppl politely to run a specific channel. Posting a flyer about the problem, etc etc. All of them are on automatic or most of them, so when one starts to switch to a diff. channel, all the rest follow suit shortly after. It's like a huge domino effect. It's ruins all wifi activity for everyone, LOL I dont get how people put up with it. The US seriously need to open up some channels for this kinda thing. I do know that routers are supposed to work together and stuff, but when tons of ppl have all different models, and other stuff, etc.... I may have to move....

Everynow and then I do MDK3 attack them, to release some channels.

I don't live there in the park but near, so when the broadcast comes into my property line, it's so on.

It's ironic that I do indeed need to do information warfare in reallife too.

I am usually right at 109 ping every match in North American Servers. 209 for Euro...and 400 in Oceanic. 300+ the game starts to get narly; where I will see my mech "rubber band" around or just disconnect.

I notice the difference when playing on American servers.

I'll run past someone in a light mech and then get pulled back in a series of jerks or jumpjet upto a ledge and touch the wall just to find myself bouncing away from the ledge 10m above the ledge with no fuel and no way to protect my legs.

My ping on NA is 40s Euro 140 and Oceanic ... well lets just say above 300 and i notice it badly being an issue. I see enemy mech I click on enemy mech and nothing happens to them ... as if I see my rounds go out and pass through a ghost image of them. The other two servers are playable and the Oceanic is not for me so sadly this event I wont be participating in it.
