I Think Pgi Should Let Us Get Sarah's Jenner Again.

And I do like the idea of an annual charity mech drive, that would be cool. I think the first time around PGI had to jump through a bunch of legal hoops to get it done, but if I recall correctly, they did it "right" the first time, to put all the ground work in place if they ever did another one.
I'd like to see them do a separate mech for one of each of the larger charity initiatives, children's cancer, ms, mda, parkinsons, etc. Hopefully this is something our new community manager can take up?

The thing about Sarah's Jenner is that it's a Jenner
I'm not sure how familiar you are with the story but Jenner was her favorite mech.
Choosing a different mech would defeat the purpose and exclusivity isn't the point.
The reason they aren't selling it anymore is because they had to jump through a bunch of hoops just to make it all possible.
From what I understand Canada's charity laws are a *****
tl;dr
Sarah's Jenner isn't about exclusivity, it's about Sarah and her legacy and how Sarah was the only one who was ever able to bring the MWO community together (for the most part)

If it hasn't happened already, I say don't push it. It's not our call at all.
Sarah's jenner was the product of amazing community support for the idea, and PGI followed through with it. I think Sarah's jenner was truly a "you had to be there" moment to grasp the uniqueness of the events that lead to Sarah's Jenner...
I think now-a-days, people just want it for the mech rather than to support charity. If you want to support charity, then go and donate, nothing's holding you back.
You want the mech just to have a special mech, but also want to cover it up as being a good deed. <-- I think a lot of people are going to fight me on this point, but it's what I stand by.
I think what makes the Sarah's mech special is it's uniqueness and the combination of events that brought it to fruition, and I honestly think that it should just be left at that.

I know.
The family still went up and shook hands with PGI and attended the ceremony.
The family will need to do that again if there's another cheque generated in support of Sarah. Otherwise that would be very disrespectful.
Thus, since the Sarah's Jenner affects the parents in that regard, it is entirely up to them if they are willing to go through that again, or would much rather leave things in the past and just as people to donate to charity if they want to donate to charity.
Basically, I'm just brining up the fact that we also need to think about the other part of the family, and respect their wishes as well before we start asking, begging, demanding (whatever it's going to turn into) for Sarah's Jenner again.
Edit:
And my point is highlighted below.
"I'd buy".
The mentality today is that you're buying a mech, rather than donating and receiving a piece of Sarah's legacy.
It's because of that fundamental change in mentality that I would say no to bringing Sarah's Jenner back.

Which is why I suggested something else.
Like they could sell a Pink colored mech and all the money they make off that could go to breast cancer research.
Leave the Sarah mech as it is, but do other charity mechs, would provide good PR.

I don't speak for Sarah's family, but If I lost a child I wouldn't mind if my child's memory went on to help others.
Nobody wants to bring up painful memories for the Parries, but the cause is just.
Of course their permission is something that goes without saying.

I'd buy it anyway.
Amen bro.. I'd buy it for sure.
If folk object on the basis that it was an exclusive, maybe pgi could revise the skin slightly?

Meh.. The family isn't the point, although we all empathise.. the cause is.

But why do another charity if the whole Sarah thing is abandoned? Just to provide "good" PR? I think a charity held just to generate PR is bad taste.
I'll say this again, if you'd like to donate to breast cancer, you may do so. You get a pin and stuff if I recall correctly. We don't need PGI to hold charity runs just because they did one in the past, or have to do another one just to generate PR, or have to do one because we think it's good for them to hold one. PGI is a company not a charity themselves. I don't expect them at all to generate content to generate funds for charity. I believe that unless it's a special event or moment that causes it, a business doesn't have to hold any charities of any type.
Anybody can and should go to their local charity and donate there. You don't need PGI to give you a reason to.

Don't give a hoot about the mech. Lrn to rd.

These people have no interest in charity. They simply want to buy a robot, and feeling good about themselves 'because I donated to charity, bro!' is the icing on the cake.
Whenever this is brought up, I get deeply offended.
It was a charity event, not a limited time sale. You're making me very offended here, bro. Please go away. And by the way, 'the family isn't the point?'
Holy ****, guy. You're terrible.
Seriously. Yeah I feel bad. **** you.

Lrn to rd what? Oh you mean the 10 words you wrote? I'm sorry I didn't assume in your favor, and give you the benefit of the doubt. But I read what you wrote, and you wrote "buy" and "it". Was I not suppose to take what you say as literal? Isn't that the whole point of reading?
Maybe you mean I should be better at assuming? Or guessing? Or maybe I should have taken that class at "trying to make you look good" ?

But while I do own a Sarah's Jenner, I do think there's something irrational about this whole thing. If people are so interested in giving money to charity.... just give money to charity. No need to wait for PGI to create a charity mech. There's something to be said about wanting to be recognised for giving to charity, piloting a mech that shows your donation to the world.
If you give charity in public, it is worthwhile (for it will persuade others), but if you hide and deliver it to the poor in secret that is (far) better for you."

1 - Get mech (lets say..... DWF).
2 - Make it bright pink. I mean amazingly ******* pink. I want a pink cockpit, pink lasers, pink legs, everything pink. I want it to make the HGN Pretty to look boring and stale.
3 - Give all proceeds to breast cancer charity in the form of donation.
4 - Profit.

That way, we *get* nothing to make ourselves feel better about ourselves, and the cause is pushed - not the stuff.

And PGI has stated for stat tracking that it counts as just a Jenner D. To resell the mech or a diffrent mech with a copy of the sarah skin would be a huge insult to not only her memory, the reason why it was done, her parents and the mwo community that backed and fought hard to make the mech happen.
If you just want people in the game to remeber her and the mech bumb the thread or use the mech in game. A lot of people were having sarah mech days when the mech came out.
