As it stands every weekend is trashed for casuals and new players.

Definitely a much "calmer?" weekend event compared to the norm.
But secretly, we can make double or better when they give out premium time

Basically this is just a double CB weekend disguised as a tournament.

I don't feel any pressure. I adapted to buy my mechs with MC and use cbill for weps and modules. Problem is the many who must have whatever crap PGI is offering each weekend.
Just read through all the comments on many threads how behaviors change during challenges. Hope you can absorb whats being written.

LOL. Yeah. 16/17 so far. Don't ask about the 17th! Feels a little weird thinking most of my garage is "out of bounds" since I'm sticking to "specials," but it's made an interesting mix. Embers...haven't seen Embers in months!

Never mind, that pressure will be gone once I have the maximum qualified matches in lights but still want to play them

Some people have limited playtime, such as a weekend. or less, due to work. [keep in mind not everyone has weekends off]
As such, people may have only a couple of hours a day to devote to this challenge, thus being entirely unable to participate in any meaningful capicity. Extending events to be week long gives everyone a chance.

This complaint makes more sense when there are tiers, IMO. This time, it scales. You get something at every level of participation.

Unless you want to maximize full earnings.
in which case, you're screwed.
Sure. But you still get something, unlike in a "50 points for a mech" scenario.
To be clear: I wish events were not so weekend-centric myself, I just think it's less of a problem this time than sometimes.

Yeah.
Sometimes teammates screw with that. Weekends are backbiters. Before I get into range with my brawler, my teammates have usually carved pretty designs in my back armor. Two weekends ago, I was TKed 5 times before I gave up and logged out.
