I removed 2 MGs.
I find them useful in the scenario that you're chasing another light but are not 100% certain your SRMs are going to hit it because of diagonal movement.
They are also important late in games.

I do not.
I also do not carry jump jets.
I cram as much SRM ammo in it as I can. I believe I carry 750 rounds.
I have an XL280, one extra heat sink, 14 head armor, and max armor everywhere else.
There have been a few rounds I got down below 100 rounds and topped 1000 damage in my Huggin.
I have had 6 kill rounds in my Huggin.
I do not believe the Machine guns and Jump Jets are the best use of weight in the Huggin.
That's my opinion.

I removed the MGs and replaced them with more SRM ammo. The main reason being that I can't coordinate the lead times for the machine guns and the SRMs at the same time, so either one of them always misses (or often times both...). My Damage has acutally increased ever since. I keep the JJs because I find them immensely useful for mobility, especially when climbing a hill. I run a 280xl, full armor and 7,5 tons of SRM ammo. 750 Missiles are enough for pretty much any longer fight (I tend to die early ).
I really, really love this mech although I do wish the alpha would be a bit higher. And I would love some ECM

Man trust me you dont need MGs
I used MGs in begin, but then I get an advice from really good player, whose I totally respect.
Here is my setup now and its really working for me.
+ SRM4 cooldown and SRM4 range modul.

No Artemis, no MGs. All the ammo you can fit with an XL 280 and one or two JJs (I forget now). I pack almost 800 SRMs and sometimes run out. It takes a while to chew through the legs of 3 different assaults.
