Don't let my pr0 photoshop skills fool you, this isn't actually something PGI made.
Here's what I'm proposing:
- Mech pack based on the super popular and award-winning Battletech cartoon featuring Adam Steiner and his Somerset Strikers.
- Introduce a new Enhanced Imaging module. Ideally it shouldn't really be that good, but it should look awesome.
- Wolfhound, Crab, Axman and Mauler mechs. The show featured a Bushwacker, but that doesn't make sense in 3050, so we'll use the Crab instead. Unless the rumours are true and PGI is moving the timeline to 3053, in which case the Bushwacker is available.
- There's no melee in the game, so just do the Axman without the melee weapon and then let it equip a melee weapon when melee is introduced in 2017 or 2018.
- Some of the 4 mechs don't have 3 variants in 3050, but PGI is already inventing P-variants, so that's not a problem.
The answer is....
because nostalgia.
Thanks to Alex Iglesias (Crab), Bishop Steiner (Mauler, I think), David White (Wolfhound) and whoever drew the brilliant Axman I shamelessly plagiarized to make this post.
