For easier assists, sure. And the bonus for making the enemy duck down. LRMs are disproportionately scary for many people.

I have PTSD (i mean no disrespect to anyone with ACTUAL PTSD) from the Lurmageddon of old beta days.

Every single time i get the "Incoming missiles", i go full panic mode, try to get to cover, fail, get hit and think to myself 'that wasn't that bad'

Only he wasn't doing reasonably well. He ended the game with little over 200 damage.

seen plenty of people in premiere Meta builds do just as badly.

Like I said in another topic: Shaquille O'Neal is proud of his recent cameo in MW:O as the Grasshopper

I was really looking forward to the grass hopper, but I have to say it is one of the most frustrating mechs to play

a list of the problems iv found with it

1. oviasly the height but but its more then that, it seems to get all the negatives of being tall and somehow skips the positives

negatives: cant hide and that head is mostly just an extension for the center torso so the center torso gets shredded quick I often die from loss of center wile I still have armor on my shoulders, regardless of how much i roll the damage because that head has nothing to roll to

the legs are so high that even if you bend over as far as possible, you cant see what the hell is stopping you from moving and some of the smaller lights can actually duck under the weapons that aren't mounted in the arms, the arms need to point down so far you cant see where you are aiming, so its like you are firing from a hill directly below. also when you try to jump up to a ledge you need to bern every thing you have just to garetea you make it again because you cant see where yore legs end.

positives (or are they?)

head mounted missile/laser slot and 1-2 shoulder mounted weapons, should be grate for popping over hills except you get to 75% heat and you the steam and smoke coming off them is utterly blinding and corses severe frame loss.

skinny profile to bad i cant shoot side on without rotating my torso and then i need to hold it to get the full effect of my laser weapons.

the mech has grate weapon slots but all these problems really make them redundant. the torso and lower side weapons are only good when you are moving out of cover which is really bad since you die so quickly.

verdict: the mech really needs to be shortened perhaps to the Orion's height and perhaps a bit more pitch it would be nice to see some internal structure or armor on the center torso even if it comes from the places it already has.

Its not a bad mech at all. But it could use a bigger quirk on the center torso and a bit more energy heat reduction and range.

I'm thoroughly surprised that it is not as nimble as its namesake implies. I'm even more stumped that PGI, while testing out new quirks, didn't actually add some sort of Jump Jet quirk of a kind, even if a minor one (for something named "Grasshopper", it's sure as sluggish as hell). They really do need to do something about this mech's CT damage magnetism as well as adjust its size archetype down to Large instead of Huge.

Don't know why people complain about the Grasshopper with the exception of the timberwolf, I think as it stands its the best Heavy in the game I'm looking at K/d's of 3.57/ 2.75 /2.40 none of the mechs are mastered, none have modules in, even before they were elited I was turning in 100 plus match scores and I've broken 1k damage with it once and had plenty in the 500-750 damage range. and only matches I've turned in bad damage results have been with the exception of a match where a double gaus JM, critted my XL they have all been due to team rolls in pugs.

Best match I've had with it was a 7 kill 4 assist game in the 5H, jumping up and down the gullies in canyon network, spreading damage out brawling a timberwolf and would have got my ace of spades badge, if a lurmboat salvo hadn't taken out the myst lnyx i'd legged at the end.

It plays like my brawler build Victors used to be like, (which I want them doing again to make them worth playing once more) the GH has brought back goodtimes and injected fun in the game thats been missing since the Victor nerfs.

Its thin xl friendly build far and away out shines the height which is I've found an advantage more than once, lights edge shooting at shorter squatter mechs in mining collective now face the wrath of double LPL's in high shoulder mounts, I can attibute at least two kills due to the fact it ..is.. so tall and can engage mechs in places others can't.

5J runs 2lpl's the rest are mpls
5H 2lpls 3mpl ,2ml's I wasn't prepared to go lower than a 340 xl, or take JJ's out, and the extra range sometimes comes in handy.
5N 2 PPS's (to hot with ERPPC) 4 mpls

Grasshopper is uglie and I only pilot beautiful mechs.

Looks like it was styled by preschoolers as part of a cubist renaissance themed first day at kindergarten ice breaker activity.

I'm with you Cathy, the Grasshoppers are just damage and killing machines. They are cool running laser vomit, and they seem to soak up damage ok (even for their size).

I'm also pulling great damage and kill numbers with them.

If I had one negative about them, its their tall cockpit position (high POV position) makes the mech feel slower than it is. It feels slow (almost like I'm piloting a quick and agile Assault).

Overall it is one of my favorite Heavies.
