Agreed. Heavy weapons are always best put on high torso mounts.

So far the Zeus is really feast or famine for me. Either I do well or I get my hindquarters handed to me early and thoroughly. I'm thinking this is going to be one of those mechs that needs to be fully elite'd before it comes alive. (The fact that for the past couple of days I've gotten put on teams with little to no aggression and bizarrely sub-optimal or under-weight builds doesn't help.)

I know that feeling-- Grasshopper feels like that too sometimes-- But I love it a lot still. Easily my favorite IS heavy, right next to the Orion.

I use this one but had to exchange the ac10 with a lbx10 due to hit reg issues I'm having with ballistics atm.
That lbx can come in handy late game if you play smart early on.

Fact is, people are playing the Zeus wrong. They buy a mech that is good as a mid-long range support, and try to do a stand up brawl with it. Then they wonder why their 80 ton Assault had lost against my 55 ton Wolverine.

Also, I think the Zeus is awful. It's 10 tons heavier than a Grasshopper but infinitely less powerful.

Someone else recommended the LPL in the torso high mounted hardpoints. I did try that loadout, but I prefer them in the arms. They're mainly for defense against light mechs. Fits my playstyle better. Now, on the 5N and the 5J with 2 Hardpoints per arm, the MLP in the arms might work pretty good.

I haven't even touched the Zeus yet. Still leveling up the GRH. Got the 5N through all but one basic now. I haven't played much since Tuesday.

Played some matches with a friend last night who was running his something like this:

I'd probably set it up with mpls instead of the ml's.

Want the panther but not really interested in the others. Will probably alacarte the Zeus and leave it at that for now.
