I think moderate and slow is a good way to progress, but what some of the mechs got was not moderate.
They were tiny and inconsequential.
When a mech is so bad, that it's name is literally a joke like "The Badder", and it's in the game for something like 9 months - they should have been able to come up with much, much more significant quirks for this mech.
The fact is, that the team seems to really have no clue about the hard details of this game, they understand their data but they don't understand the intangibles.
They don't remember, or ignore, small details like an Adder not having 10x 2.0 DHS in its engine.
I often get into arguments with people on these forums, because while I recognize a good many clan mechs are clearly not top tier and not OP at all - I also feel many of them (through the raw strength of clan tech) are not that far from being very solid mechs to play and are on par or close to it with a huge number of already well-quirked IS mechs.
The Adder and Ice Ferret are not those mechs, they need MAJOR help, and they didn't get it after all this waiting.
Other mechs like the Summoner got quirks that are literally a joke. Its not just the values, its the TYPE of quirks they got.
WTF is anyone supposed to do with Machine gun range quirks on a 70T heavy mech?
I'm glad nothing ended up ROFLPOCALYPSE strong, but on the other hand people have a right to be pissed after waiting so long - and that goes for the handful of IS mechs that really didn't get anything amazing either (HGN movement stuff is decent though, but the JJs are still the lynchpin).
