So now we have quirks, ghost heat, hover jets and charge up on guass.

Now as people pointed out that weapons are changing sizes on mechs, we are getting everything scaled down to fit onto a light mech, then applied to all mechs.

Mech warrior is the only game where graphics get worse during its life.

I am confused what was the downsides of sized hardpoints?

We didn't need LRM 20s fitting on ravens, and machine gun sized ac on jagger mechs.

Just seems like rather then admitting a mistake, more and more rubbish is being added poorly to make up for it.

Well - i did prefer my typical answer for the topic "sized hardpoints" - and you know what. You are right.
My typical answer would have been "sized hardpoints" are only viable for the aesthetic not balance.

Well and balance is not the problem but aesthetics.
100% for this change.

They should not only introduce sized hardpoints for weapon, but drop quirks and instead improve the module system, too. Instead of quirking a chassis into one specific build, give it sized module hardpoints and let players choose how to "quirk" it by installing fitting modules.

Would be an easy way to balance mechs, give the sub-par chassis more and larger module hardpoints, so that they can buff themselves appropriately for the weapon loadout they chose.

My advocacy of sized hard points have been vindicated. What's next? Tiny nipple/arm Awesome?

would mean having to pu the 2 adder ppc's from torso to arms, mkaing the mech suddenly horribad.

its again, unfortunately a inconvinient topic. yes it would help vs some things that are off, but it would also trash some things that currently barely stay alive by benefitting from it.

The point of sized hard points would be the adders laser arm hard points can fit a PPC, though the jenner laser hard points can only fit medium lasers. Then the actual model can be designed so the arms and weapons are scaled correctly and we don't get the latest jaggermech strangeness.

So what?
The Adder wouldn't be the only head to roll.... Better to honor their sacrifice but not to do the necessary

I have to agree with this. It's really weird. Old screenshots look ten times better than new ones. They disable nice graphical features across the board, just to please the people with the weakest computers. And their mechs keep getting uglier, with worse geometry, low spec textures and that terrible, terrible, terrible damage texture.

It's really, really weird. I can't think of any other game I've played, ever, with the same sort of development.

the porblem (agaiN) is its a blanked change that will hurt those that are not good, and hardly hurt those that are good. these are not solutions that improve anything at all. they are changes that swap issues around.

This is an early step on the way to fixing scaling. If you've ever bashed pgi for mech scale they have to get a get out of jail card for this one because its part of a ground up fix.....
