I Actually Like The New Looks

Enough with the negative waves, post something righteous and hopeful for a change!
Ilya gonna killya
Haven't played in a while because of work and school but always happy to rep Stock-Mech-Monday.
Dapper-Jag is still dapper
and the gunslinger's gonna get some
Remember kids, small hit-boxes = good hit-boxes, keep calm and fire for effect.

In my opinion there should be longer versions and internally mounted versions of all weapons, so we can preserve the unique look of certain mechs.
Maybe that way we can have a Warhawk that actually looks like a Warhawk and isn't constantly mistaken for a Dire Wolf.

Besides, aren't all Jager pilots dual gauss or dual A/C20 anyway? The barrel size should look fine for about 90% of the Jagers out there lol.
Edit: I suppose I see what the deal is. The barrels are stubby. Well, look at it as a buff. If you received the long arms you wanted, your arms would just be easier to hit.

I would prefer if the enemy aim at my arms. Cause that means they are not aiming at my vulnerable XL ST.

Sorry, OP.

This.
Who the F aims at the gun barrels of the Jagermech??
I would actually want my gun barrels to be big enough so I can shield my ST with it.
If anything, the geometry change turned Jagermech from 90% walking ST to 95% walking ST, and I haven't started on the aesthetic look yet.

That Jagermech though...

Literally nobody was complaining about losing their arms in a Jagermech. the previous "easier to hit" arms pretty clearly weren't an issue for the viability of the 'mech. This "buff" wasn't needed or desired, it just screws up the aesthetic of the Jag by removing the distinctive cannons that the visual design should be all about.
If consistency is the concern, the quirks can even explain, to a certain extent, why the long barrels would be present on the Jag- There are velocity and range bonuses on several of the variants. How do you improve velocity and range? With a longer barrel! Like the difference between the Stug III A and the Stug III F, both have a 75mm cannon, but the F has the superior long-barreled option for anti-tank engagements.

That's easily fixed. Just remove the velocity and range bonuses, too.
Based on what PGI just did to Jagers, I'm afraid someone there might actually do this. It's a joke. Don't do it. Also, please stop making mechs look uglier.

I like that they keep relative caliber size but barrel length should probably be determined by the mech size,my 2cents.
A way they could have stopped all these problems could have been to make every weapon have its entirely own model, for instance a UAC5 could look like the weapon system like this vvv

Lol...aesthetics on a Jager, that's funny. The thing is one of the ugliest mechs in the game to begin with. Long arms or not, it's about as pretty as a sack of rotting animal intestines.
Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder anyway I suppose *shrug*
Well, I was trying to give you a glass is half full way to look at it since those barrels AREN'T changing EVER. If countless Catapult threads 50+ pages long asking for geometry changes havent gotten anywhere, this isn't.
Get used to the stubs, they are here for the life of the game.

I have never run dual Gauss,(Gauss rifles are not my thing) but I have been known to drop dual AC/20's in her. My main builds with my Jager DD are, triple UAC/5's one medium laser, and my Firebrand with 2 mg's and 6 medium pulse lasers. Love my Jagers!

I've seen the triple UA/C5 builds occasionally. I'm not sure I have ever seen a MPLaser build like that. Interesting...
Anyway, sorry for sounding like a jerk in that last post. Bummer that you guys and gals didn't get the geometry pass you hoped for. Catapults, Mad Dogs, Ravens, etc... Have all seen their geometry have less flattering appearances than they used to have. The Mad Dog still looks weird without the long barrels.
Well, try and get a thread going (maybe this one) and see if it makes a difference. Unfortunately I think you guys are stuck.
