Perhaps reduce explosion chance and damage while uncharged?

Although I hate it... Keep the charge Mechanic..... I do not want to see (EVER) the Highlanders Gauss + 2 PPC Poptart garbage that practically ruined the game for me back in the day.....

I even own a few Highlanders.....

DO not let them come back to the meta

There shouldn't even be a chance while it's uncharged. It breaks physics!

The clan gauss is straight up better than the Inner Sphere gauss with no down side. Any other suggestion to balance these two?????????

Someone should come up with something or the guys making this game may see this topic and take the charge away from the IS side!!!

Yeah, yeah I know, this game and physics don't mix.

Still...there are a few things that are just so incredibly counter-intuitive that there can be no excusing them. Energy release and damage dealt as a result from a weapon being destroyed while in a zero energy state falls into that category. It's also one of the reasons why I only run Gauss Rifles on a couple Mechs. The risk of critting outweighs their usefulness; I may as well go with the AC/10 instead.

Reading these topics is alot less work than making changes in game and not looking for all angles first!

Can't blame Paul on this one I'm afraid, it's a BattleTech mechanic to help balance it out because its ammo doesn't explode, generates no heat, and does a crap ton of damage at long ranges. It's called "drawbacks".

Your Hyperbole and lack of mental acuity have no place here, either contribute something worthwhile or step off. The adults are trying to have a conversation and your shrill angsty screeching is grating on our metaphorical ears.

a dual gauss build with no charge mechanic in the hands of a good FPS (you know those guys who have been training for years to do no scope head shots at long range in cs like games...) player would be insane, if u poke over a rige in a light mech (even for 0.5s) boom dead ...

What about a delay then? Rather than a manual charge. This is what anyone using a macro would get anyway, evening the playing field.

Actually.. the other day my Grid Iron survived a Gauss Explosion with an XL engine... No CASE either.

Wow...that, sir, is one hell of a rebuttal. I would be shocked and shamed if that were directed at me.

Ya you called me stupid in a long winded way, like a child. So I returned the favour. Glad you liked it. :)

If the charge mechanic makes you less effective with a Gauss then you shouldn't be using a Gauss because you might be disabled.

It shouldn't explode when not being charged - it exploding before was an explanation of its ability to instantly fire, eg, "It's always being charged".

Who died and made you God? This is the place to discuss things MWO? Just because the op is discussing a topic for the 10,000 time, does not mean you can decide who talks and who can't! Good night! B)

If people say stupid things, they can expect that kind of response. Personal accountability, and all that.
