Ip Ban's, Are They Possible?

They are never removed from games, and I have seen them gloating that even if they get banned, they will simply make a new account.
So... PGI... IP banning, is it possible? And if so, why hasn't it been done already to these known offenders?

What do you mean do they have any point?
IP bans, unless someone is literally, so hardcore a troll, that they go through the trouble of changing their IP, help's lessen this kind of behavior.
My first match of the day today, ended up with one of these *******, I took care of it myself because both my team, AND the enemy team, saw this guy and knew he was a problem.
At least with the threat of IP banning, there's a chance that you won't see as much of this type of behavior.

do you knwo what you have to do to change your ip? how can you call this "trouble"? it's not.
Not even hardware bans work.

Then how about instead of being negative, you offer up a solution? Because just yelling "NOTHING WORKS!" isn't helping the issue.

Mac address ban is better but can be spoofed.
Subnet ban, is my favorite but would kill friendlies as well

Making threads like this is the least helpful thing you can possibly do. If someone is TK to get a reaction they'll check the forums afterwards and absolutely thrive and be encouraged beyond measure by seeing people talking about banning them and being upset or annoyed.

Like such for example: no one can be named using Scout anymore.

The next step up would be a MAC ban, which targets the user's actual network card on their computer: each network card comes with a special number that's broadcast as part of its communication protocol and acts like the VIN number on a car's engine. Organizations that require good security often use MAC addresses as identification of a sort, allowing only the computer the that specific network card to connect. However, easily-obtainable software exists to change one's MAC address, or spoof another MAC address.
So really, anyone whose ISP allows DHCP is free to perform this kind of trolling to their heart's content. If PGI has already tried IP and MAC bans, there's really not much more they can do short of banning all users from that ISP. And honestly, a really determined troll might redirect via a VPN proxy, or a public proxy, or whatever. So there's no good answer.
Well, except community awareness. I guess stating names or making public lists is against ToS, so I'm not really sure what we as a community can do.
If you see someone you know to be a TKer in a match, just notify your team and do your best to kill them before they kill you, I guess.

PGI has said in the past, that IP bans just are not in the cards, they are too easy to get around, or if they set it for a range, then they can block out non-offenders as well. The core of this problem stems from this being a F2P game, you see this kind of behavior in F2P games, because if you get banned, just go to hot mail and get a new e-mail address, sign up again, and you are good to go. Every F2P game that has a vs. mode like this I have ever played has these kinds of jokers or children that don't care.

So MAC, and IP bans are trivially easy to get around by nearly anyone.

anonymity and f2p will always make a troll reroll as often as he wants, its not very time consuming, and you will never ever find a solution to this unless you want to do what some asians do, having you enter your passport ID to verify your existence. But i doubt many people would come to a game requiring this to enter.
active gm's instantly there banning after 2-3 games would help, but this is a very expensive way to prevent this.

and then? i can grab a name book and try they all, until the moment i have trolled the entire community not able to choose any names anymore, because ALL of them are on the blocklist. GG denial of registering service since everything is blacklisted.
unless anonymity is lost in the internet, and the way to get anonimity is not a giant trouble f2p games will always be like that.
new Ip, new mac, new email, and no one knows who you are.

Actually, let me rephrase what I said. Maybe allow a word or name to be used only 5 times overall in the game, then increase that threshold as more players join. What say you?

sneak something into the gamefiles on his local files that marks him as a troll, then everytime he does weird stuff, "bug" him out, as long as trols are not able to identify what and where this is, they will get bored by the "broken" game and leave it. They would have to redownlaod the entire game.
But thats a lot effort and the dedicated trolls will soon figure out how to circumvent this as well.

It does if it's the truth...keeps one from wasting their time on fruitless pursuits.
