Blah blah, "rename my autocannons / I want rapid fire from my autocannons," blah blah blah.

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Autocannon

Do you know how many different ACs there would be? This doesn't actually add anything to the game or clarify anything for anyone.

I am going to say, "no," a fun part of ACs is the various types, from the 150mm ten shot burst class 20 AC used by the hetzer to the fully automatic 100mm class 20 AC used by the Lightning or even the 185mm used by the Demolisher, it all adds a bit more flavor to the BT universe.

Seems to me that you can't keep different threads made by different people apart so I suggest that you immediately shut down your internet connection before you become any more dumber than you already are.

I was going to paste that to multiple threads actually. Also, it appears you are getting so upset that people are disagreeing with you that you are losing your grasp on how to make comparatives in English.

Yes people that are not willing to accept that things change worries me.

They are called rabid for a reason.

People are willing to accept that things change.

People are unwilling to agree with needless, unwarranted and slightly ridiculous ideas.
Especially when the individual in person is unable to back up his own concept with a solid, well thought out argument.

Top armor on a tank is like one inch (25.4mm) thick and the gun on the A-10 uses radioactive super-armor piercing (depleted uranium) rounds.

And your point is???? Have you even read up on Battletech at all?? They "DO" damage to mechs!

maybe we should call the autocannons "chair" and the ammunition "water"....
The whole idea is quite useless since mechanics do not change and you just might just sow confusion for no useful reason...

First you said Autocannon 2 should be removed from the game because they are useless in your opinion.

Then you wanted to replace the Particle Projector Cannon with Phased Plasma Cannon so that you could have a plasma weapon.

Now you want to alter part of the naming of the Autocannons too. And yes i noticed you left the AC 2 out of your original post.
And you like your own posts top it off?

Your talent for saying things that makes people angry with you is incredible.

Simple and easy, but I give you the Starbuck Theory. What sounds better, Large, 20oz or Venti... Literally means the same thing. However, Venti sounds so much cooler. Assault AC, XXmm AC, or AC/20.

I will bring it up again since people can't keep it constructive.

60MM Autocannon - 5 points of damage

90MM Autocannon - 10 points of damage

120MM Auto cannon - 20 points of damage

150MM Autocannon - 25 points of damage

@Future Perfect

And i'll bring it up again, as you did not explain it yet. How is this better than the current system?

AC/20 - 20 points of damage, shortest range
AC/10 - 10 points of damage, med range
AC/5 - 5 points of damage, long range
AC/2 - 2 points of damage, longest range

What do we gain by limiting specific AC classes to certain calibres? You mentioned the ammunition labeling, but thats not realy a valid point as already mentioend. You did not mention any other benefit and i can't think of any.

Simple answer is NO. Learn the game its not that hard, new players will either learn to play a tacital game where they just (oh my god! have to use their brain) or move on to something more their speed like pong, pacman ect............

This is "splitting hairs"... Why change the name of something that everyone is already used to and love. Also... There is no caliber designation for any AC. an AC/20 could be a single-shot 120mm or a burst-fire 60mm cannon. Also, the current system is great. The number designation is the average amount of damage per a ten second period of time. AC/20 is 20 points of damage every ten seconds. Calling it a 120mm Autocannon doesn't tell me that.

Because you name a cannon after it's caliber and not on how much damage it does.

And when I think about it the 150MM Autocannon should be 30 points of damage and not 25.
