I thought maybe we could pull together as a community and on march 27th we paint our mechs yellow, take screenies and post them to show our support for this little guy.

What if PGI were able to create a unique Yellow color that could be bought for $ and the proceeds donated to an appropriate charity?
If there was enough support from the community and the right people made aware, this might become a reality.
I don't really know how to get the ball rolling or if people would be interested and would be grateful for anyone's input.

PGI did that for the Sarah's Jenner, which was the daughter of a player who also loved to watch MWO.

If this particular charity has no involvement with MWO,then I would rather PGI focus on the game instead of jumping on every bandwagon they can find.

Also, collecting money to donate to a charity requires special consideration from the government otherwise they get taxed on it.

I take it by "Bandwagon" you mean a worthy cause that helps children with life threatening illnesses.
Of the many words i could possibly use to describe this, "bandwagon" wouldn't be on it.
And i'm so glad you find a Game more important than this.

Even if PGI doesn't do it, we can do something. So in making us aware, OP is already contributing.

Sorry i don't need the real world in my virtual one.

if this kid was remotely related to mwo then sure fine, I'm all for it.

And that is from somebody who actually owns a Jenner-S.

You do realize that this entire statement is a total contradiction?
And just because YOU don't "need the real world in you virtual one" good for you, doesn't mean everyone feels the same.
You do know no one is forcing anything on you , why are you even here taking the time to comment if its such an imposition on YOUR virtual world.
This is a totally voluntary thing for people who might want to support it.
you should know this because sarah's jenner was totally voluntary as well and as someone who owns a jenner S i find your statement gobsmacking .
It in know way impacts YOUR oh so precious virtual world unless you object to the color yellow in which case you need to submit a ticket to PGI.

I have to agree with Mycrus. There's no connection to MWO so there shouldn't be anything done in MWO. Just making the community aware of this however, means they can donate directly, without wasting Dev time and forcing them to jump through hoops for tax exemptions.

PGI not doing anything, and the community donating directly, is a win-win for everybody.

A noble cause, but don't think we can expect PGI to represent and support every charity. Call it a hunch, but I doubt they envisioned themselves as gaming's "make a wish foundation". Doesn't mean we can't raise awareness ourselves though, so go ahead and paint your mechs yellow if you want.

If you want to raise awareness for breast cancer, paint your mech pink. If you want to raise awareness for sphincter cancer, paint your mech brown. If you want to raise awareness for testicular torsion, red or blue could work. Your call.

A fair point, i know there are lots of worthy causes, one no more deserving than the other that many donate to privately and i'm willing to admit that the color for $ was a bit of wishful thinking on my part but hopefully i can still raise enough awareness that a few members of the community can still color their mech yellow,or may want to do something personally.
After all, what little 5 year old boy doesn't like big stompy yellow robots.

If I'm going to participate in a charity, I'd like to have some faith that what I'm doing actually matters, that it actually has an effect. I'm not sure painting my mech yellow qualifies.

If PGI sells a new charity mech for a good cause, I'm all ears.

By the way, you guys really need to stop feeding the trolls.

Mostly just the ones that are too timid to do it to peoples faces :)

Maybe just tweet it to Russ so at least he's aware of it. Could also give a shout out to the guys at NGNG. Love em or hate em, they can at least make people aware.

Funny, I'm more forceful in person than on forums. I'll have to check and see if I have an Appropriate Yellow for Friday. B)

So...if people are against this, why post in this thread? Just close the window and move on. Nobody cares about your government charity taxing conspiracies or any other nonsense.
