I'll see if I earn enough MC from this event to get some yellow paint for my 'mechs. Would be a bit of a change-up of my regular colors I use.

Though.. seeing a bunch of bananas running around the field throwing bananas with guns blazing and lasers pew-pewing and ppc kashhowing might be amusing to see.

In honor to this cause and that cat from page 1, I'll wear purple all week long.

Just when I thought I might get some respite from mankind's inherent derp for a day, I find a bunch of players turning a nice idea for individuals to show some support for a sick kid for a day into an SJW rant.

Well played, gentlemen. Where some might have ceased when they reached the bottom of the apple barrel, you fearlessly seized pick and trowel and proceeded to dig. The rest of mankind salutes your valiant efforts - may you find buried treasure and storied adventure in the depths sufficient to compel you to remain there. Godspeed, and the very best of luck. o7

For the rest of us, help and show support as you can and will as your conscience dictates, and perhaps paint your 'mech yellow on the day to wish the wee lad well during his next operation ^_^

I can appreciate the OP making us aware of this charity, and spreading word; however, if it has nothing to do with MWO, it really should be in off-topic.

I take it by "Bandwagon" you mean a worthy cause that helps children with life threatening illnesses.
Of the many words i could possibly use to describe this, "bandwagon" wouldn't be on it.
And i'm so glad you find a Game more important than this.

If there was going to be a charity donation to this, I'd buy the colour to support it, but come on. Someone pointed out a perfectly logical reason its unlikely to happen & said they'd rather the game not get bogged down trying to force it to happen.

There's no need to get arsey about it. Its hard to empathise with something you have no connection to. Get off your high horse, bro.

I thought maybe once again we could pull together as a community and on march 27th we paint our mechs yellow, take screenies and post them to show our support for this little guy.

Also if PGI would be able to create a unique Yellow color that can only be bought for $ and donate the proceeds to the appropriate charity.
I don't really know how to get the ball rolling on this and would be grateful for anyone's help in making the right people aware to make this a reality.

I'm of 2 minds about this

# Personally I have issue with the fact that charity donations often don't actually go on the actual cause that they are supposedly for. They very often go on advertising or paying "charity workers" wages instead. I can't help but believe that for the costs of every advert I see on the tv about "save the African donkeys" or whatever, they could have bought every donkey in Africa, and left the Africans entirely donkeyless.

Theres also been so much money donated to specific causes over the years such as cancer etc that it's hard not to wonder why these diseases haven't been eradicated by now. It's almost as though people make a career out of a serious problem existing and have no real motivation to bring an end to it.

Because of this it is very hard for me to understand what is a legitimate cause and what is just a part of the "free money, please" industry.

# This particular charity isn't anything to do with MWO, this shouldn't really be an advertising board for charities.

On the other hand.

# PGI doing charity items definitely generates goodwill.

# There are people in the world that do genuinely need assistance, and don't have any other way to reach out for support.

So, right sentiment, wrong place I guess. You should possibly have approached PGI privately around this rather than posting it on the forum. Support@ would have been a sensible place to start.

im tired from work and i dont get the reference...

Hastur the Unspeakable, from HP Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. Pure entropy, to speak its name is to invite dissolution. Also called the King in Yellow, whose Yellow Sign is the swirly symbol you can see behind it.

I don't see the "slacktivism" (dreadful word, who came up with that?) in the OP's post myself, just an attempt to raise awareness and suggest doing something nice for a sick kid - but then I am removed from the larger phenomenon of percieved SJW's and their detractors, from which I am informed a great wailing and gnashing of teeth arises, along with a most intense and ungodly aroma.

If you do not like the idea of asking PGI to formally support the effort, that is fine - but do try not to lose sight of the OP's basic suggetion of perhaps doing a little something to show support for another human being ahead of a difficult procedure, which is to wear a certain colour on the day as you take internet robots into conflict with other internet robots. A nod to common humanity, a very small thing and easily done if you are of a mind to. Vitriolic malignancy for percieved procedural or ideological failings is an ugly thing to witness in the words of others when set against such a backdrop, especially when it comes with a bidet-like squirt of flame-baiting. Perspective, gentlemen - best kept in mind, and taken regularly with a dose of fresh air away from internet shenanigans

Play nice kids if this is not your deal then move along and close the page, if this is something your interested in then post your thoughts, prayers and support. For PGI to get involved would probably not and should not happen at this level however thanks for the awareness and we can take the next step from here.

This thread is full of love respect and honor. I will pray for you all.

Yea but none of that stops me from supporting the Australian red cross with $40 a month and it doesn't stop me throwing some support to individuals who do something for charity like this west Australian police officer

I do believe if im fortunate in life to have it so easy that I can afford to waste money on a video game then I should share some with others first.

Well anyway its my money I guess ill do with it what I will and I won't tell you what to do with yours.

That is an enlightened perspective Sir. I also Donate to children's charities all the time. Mostly ones that involve Autism and Children's Hospitals.
