Probably never?

Note that Kurita has multiple fronts and that's not their fault for having that many fronts.

I'm not feeling bad for Wolf considering they have Mercstar on their side at this point in time.

I lean towards no on that.

While I believe the planet count actually suggests massive losses on both factions (though, the Davion stuff is kinda inexcusable due to not having a clan front - something a Steiner could claim), but if your faction has the most people and aren't getting any better... maybe it's not entirely the fault of the Clans for that.

But hey... it's Steiner and Davion... the most noted Houses in the IS...

Who says we have the most people? As I said before, a majority of the people in Davion don't even played CW. We've lost *tons* of people lately anyway.

I can see Ghost Bear & Marik losing people explaining the recent map I saw.
So a bunch of people went Wolf, explains the large number of Wolf players I see outside CW.
Time to replace the system.

Davion has been pummeled on all sides over the past 2 months, and is currently being eaten by Liao. If "doing kinda ok" factions like Marik get an income boost, when will Davion get theirs?

Davion is getting nowhere near as pummeled by Liao as Marik is. Liao is to Marik what Kurita is to Davion only Liao is not fighting Clans.

TBH, it actually is. A few notable HK loyalist units have spent the past 2 months being raging d-bag trolls on the forums and in-game, thus ensuring that all their neighbors want to kick their teeth in. Sure, HK's map position sucks, but the only reason every single border they have is an active, hostile front is because of their own community's behavior. HK could have made lemonade from their lemons, but they totally blew it and pissed in the pitcher.

In other news, even I feel bad for House Mary Sure (Davion). They may have a large population, but that doesn't mean they're actually logging into CW.

This needs to be planet win/loss based vs population based, as not everyone in a population plays CW.

Steiner has finally started winning back a few things after losing hundreds of planets. Davion has regressed of late from their former glory, and the FRR is barely hanging in there.

davion has only two fronts and gets a lot of the new players anyhow.

I wouldn't exactly call that an advantage: new players in CW are almost worse than a ghost drop. At least with a ghost drop, you don't actually have to suffer through 20 minutes of steamrolling.

Hello! I am a Steiner loyalist. I love playing against some of the most competitive teams in the game, over and over and over again. I love my faction rank 15 rewards! They are almost 1/5 what I could have gotten bouncing around, so that's awesome. I love having so many clan fronts up north, while getting sneak attacked in the south. The only thing I love more than all these things is the fact that I get all these nifty incentives for being in the thick of it since this war started.

I suppose I need to be PGI affiliated for them to listen when I explain how jacked up their changing reward system is.

The best we can do in Steiner, when we DON'T have the merc units, is hold the line, and that's it. And truth be told, we don't even do that well as evidenced by the fact that our faction (I'm pretty sure) has lost more worlds than any other. Marik, on the flip-side has WON more worlds than any other.

You are saying this when the FRR has under 5 planets now.

Mostly just Mercs Star hopping into Wolf.

My fingers are dying from typing exactly what you wrote. There is not a single point to have population based rewards, as really it could just be one unit doing everything (ahem Mercs Star), and if they are failing yet getting the least rewards then it doesn't make sense.

Nobody wants to join the FRR. Davion's huge population is people clicking the Davion flag not knowing what to pick and noticing that it's the first faction possible to pick. Steiner had Mercs Star in it earlier, screwing everything over.

So please PGI, make it success based, the harder hit a faction is, the more reward should be given per win. All three above that Bront and I mentioned are simply getting screwed over and over, therefore this needs a change.

Even while that may or may not be true, there are plenty of behind the scenes reasons why this may be the case.

Marik is one of those factions that have not faced a Clan front, and while they have many planets... some would argue that have not tested their mettle vs the Clans... similar to Davion or Liao.

I understand the making enemies part, but there are times where certain factions aren't good as they think they are and then try to claim that they are good. That's when people get really nasty.

Davion was home to about 3 comp tier 12mans and 5 or 6 semi-comp tier 12mans for the first 2 months. Then they left Davion or cw. Ebb and flow, I talked about this when cw first started and everyone was raging about how broken cw was because Davion was winning every front easily. At some point Kurita is going to fall apart. It's inevitable - just a matter of when. A few key people leave, another game starts, it cascades into a steady bleed back to a couple dozen people.

Which is why the current system is so terrible. Factions need quirks and loyalists need huge rewards. Otherwise cw is irrelevant, just cheap window dressing on pug drops.

I wouldn't be surprised either, but as long as the fronts exist, Merc units will move to where the action is at. The fewer the fronts, the less interest there is.

However, the issue of which you speak of is a more deeper and more complicated discussion about CW and everything works around it. As it stands, it's broken for people that don't know any better or get immediately bored over the "effective grind" when it pits large teams that work together vs players that aren't (willing or unwilling).

I'm not sure how you would "quirk" the system... so suggest something there.

CW still has no purpose, unfortunately (outside of outright farming for C-bills and LP).

Kurita expanded itself to have those fronts once they got a **** ton of units behind them because of the cbill and LP bonus. They only had one front for a very, very long time. And that was us CSJ.

That isn't entirely accurate.

The Clan Fronts expanded a bit... some faster than others, and essentially removed FRR from the equation and now are reaching into whatever was former FRR territory and partly Kurita territory. The CSJ one is obvious, but the other ones took a bit more time to develop for various reasons.

I love spreadsheets from ComStar. :D

But can't understand why does Clan Wolf get a reduction? They are no way leading the invasion.

Clan Wolf has the highest population, due to being the most popular Clan. PGI is hoping to disperse some of the less die hard Wolves into other factions.

Besides, how could one not want to be one of these honorable warriors?

I thought it was Ghost Bear that was the largest Clan faction (I believe it was Davion, Steiner, Ghost Bear as far as faction population is concerned)?

Edit: Apparently not. Odd, as I see a lot more Ghost Bear than any other clan in CW. Which for a Steiner, is weird.

From another thread:

Hold up a second lets break the numbers down.

Day 90 Clans - Day 106 Clans
  • Clan Jade Falcon: 89 - 68
  • Clan Smoke Jaguar: 76 - 78
  • Clan Wolf: 63 - 65
  • Clan Ghost Bear: 49 - 47
So no, this is not a story of Clans imploding in on itself. It's a story of Clan Jade Falcon falling to pieces. Every other Clan faction is pretty stable.

So when do Clan Jade Falcon awards get massive, and I mean massive, boosts? ;)
