I've switched to AC5 after the Quirkening Vol. 3, though I haven't played too much yet. I don't know if it's necessarily better. I just know I absolutely lose my sanity in a fit of rage every time I turn a corner to blast an assault mech in the face, and all three UAC5's jam on the second shot.

Its for this reason I won't touch a UAC5. I've been burned by it way too many times. In spite (and with PT running) I ground out the ENF-5P w/ AC5s and a LPL.

I hate you UAC5, I hate you.

I still have a soft spot for my Founders Catapult, which tends to make me a reliable amount of c-bills regardless of what the pugs do. I just know it so well that even with LRMs I can get the damage out.

Other standouts for me are the sparky and the thunderbolt 5S(P).

*sigh* the CPLT-C1. That's the one mech that makes me regret not going Legendary on the Founders program. If I could only roll the clock back. *sad panda*

Having said that, I still demand that PGI put the old arms back on the CPLTs. Those new boxes are ugly and got to go.

What are you running on the TDR-5S(P)? For a long time I ran mine like a flightless CPLT-C1 (2xLRM15A, 3xML, TAG) and it was my go-to LRM c-bill farmer. On the first quirk pass I ran it with 2xSRM6A, 3xML, LL and that was pretty good. Now not so much.

Before the jump jet nerf It was the Heavy Metal. I have a founder Jenner, Sara Mech the Pirates bane the Grey Death, The resistance and phoneix mech but I find myself in a Grey Death the most. The medium mech slot is usual in my time zone the lesser than the heavy and asssault to get drop in. Though I am fast loving the Enforcer and the Pirate Bane. I have dropped in the grasshopper and zeus enough yet to find a good build.

On a side note sure wish that the panther r special would have come default with xl and double heat sinks, that thing is useless with double heat sinks i dropped not remeber that I have ugraded it yet fire my loadout to 95 heat max and spent the whole rest of the game trying to coll down to get another shot and to make matter worst I as on terra firma lava map and that bring a whole new level of suck factor when you fall inot the volcano and your already heat over loadd finally blew up.

My Firebrand ...

I haven't hauled mine out since the geometry pass, been working on the Resistance mechs instead. Why is it bad?
Do yourself a favor and never, never look at it in the mechlab. You will cry. It is horrible.

Its like those pretty women who get acid thrown on their faces. Firebrand, with its proud ballistics barrels.... no more. Stubby doesnt begin to describe it.

They dun f**ked it up.

I going to have to agree with your pal there and I own a HBK-4G. It's not quite the same kind of crazy. Slap a XL 300 in there and you get the fastest AC 20 slinger out there. Plus it gets over 230 degrees/sec of torso twist speed which plays to the centurions strength of the shield arm. With about 6 tons of ammo in there I am never afraid of taking shots,

THe next best c-bill earner for me would be my Blue Devil, the TDK. Almost always on par with the YLW.

Edit: Just compared my twist speeds of the two and the YLW is short of the TDK's twist speed by only 33 deg/sec. That's faster than most any comparable mech out there. Of course with a +56.3% twist rate quirk, you can imagine why.

This. I play the YLW more than any other chassis, I think I have ~250 drops in it. There's nothing more fun in this game than this 106 kph AC/20 delivery system IMO.

Yen-Low and Gauss Iron are great low tonnage mechs, some of the best mediums.

I don't have firebrand but it was quite good back in the day, same with the triple gauss ILYA

Money makers for me:

Battlemaster: BLR-1G(P)
Battlemaster: HellSlinger
Griffin: GRF-1N(P)

I jump in one of those three when I just want to do allot of damage and create a ton of chaos. I've always liked the battlemaster and my builds can do a ton of sustained damage. Same with the griffin, it was no go-to mech for making money for the longest time.

I also recently added the Ember and Hugginn. Ember is running well, can't find a single fault with firestarters. I'm still not as effective with the hugginn.

Curious? What build have you found for the slinger that gets you mo' money.

The Death's Knell always delivers for me:

but I am an unabashed and inveterate Commando School Graduate, so YMMV:

Another fun little earner is the new Panther:

As for non-lights, the CN9-AH(L) is the only hero I have available for my second favourite chassis, and it too delivers:

But as with the Commandos, I've been practising:

(Side note: It's a bit sad that we don't have stats going all the way back to CB; it would have been fun to know exactly how many times I've dropped in COMs and CN9s - last time I tried to calculate it I ended up on the north side of a thousand for each chassis.)

I assume Huginn is a blast to play, with them SRM quirks.

I have a soft spot for the Cent- AH. It's superb and face crushing for the 5 minutes of the fight it has ammo.

The Misery combines the blended perfection of the Stalker chassis with a ballistic hardpoint. So toss up between those two for me.

I don't understand why anyone likes the AH. it's slow, its hitboxes aren't particularly great, it requires an XL, its armor evaporates, its primary firepower vanishes if you lose that arm and it has very little ammo. Top it all off with the shortest range weapons possible and the things a one trick pony if not an outright lemon.

Looking with tears in my eyes to my rusty and dusty Heavy Metal i hope that PGI is reading this too and realizes that the Heavy Metal has not been mentioned by anyone... because it still sucks and the ridiculous quirks did nothing to change this.

Because it's a hell of a trick. Some good torso twisting to bring up that shield arm can make the mech very tanky. As for losing he primary firepower with the loss of the right arm, you still have your missiles, generally anywhere from 6 to 12 SRM tubes, plenty enough to continue contributing. As for it being slow, 90 kph is fast enough to deal with the traditional prey of the AC20 Cent: heavies and assaults.

Top 3 Inner Sphere C-bill bonus mechs for me based on stats:

#1 BJ-A (Arrow)
#2 Griffin-1N (P)
#3 ShadowHawk- 2H(P)
..........................................
(Fang would be 4th but still too new to qualify....and IVFour is rising like a bullet after a quirk and load-out change)

Worst 3 for me by stats:

#1 ENF-5D®
#2 X5 (but I still love the thing! :P )
#3 St. Ives' Blues
.............................................
(ZEU-6S® is too new to count, but if I did, it would top this group as my worst :/ )

I'll preface this with I don't have all the mechs on the list, most notably the HBK-4G which I'm sure I'd love (I like Guass).

- Panther 10K really surprised me. Maybe not the best light, but really fun to play. I run it with all pulse lasers in one arm and lots of jump jets, risky but rewardy.

- Wolverine 6R with AC/5 quirks just shreds. Not quite like a DRG-1N, but very close and a smaller target.

- A toss up between the GRF-1N (3 ASRM6, 3 ML) and BLR-1G (2 LPL, 5 MPL). Probably have to go with the BLR-1G cause it wrecks face so much, but the GRF is a lot of fun as a hit-n-run skirmisher.

I'm still working on leveling my Zeus and Grasshoppers, so they haven't been properly accounted for. I am underwhelmed by the Firebrand, it's a good mech just seems too similar to all the other Jagers. If I had to choose a Hero mech I own, it'd probably be the Arrow, or possibly Ember. Don't own the Misery, Illya, or Huggin yet, though all on my wish list.

OK MWO, lets talk about the best Inner Sphere mechs that have a 30% c-bill bonus. What mech do you think is the best, running what build and why?

Excluding the Clans because we all already know who the best are: Stormcrow, Timberwolf, Direwolf in order of weight.

That means any hero, Founders, Phoenix, Loyalty, and Resistance mechs.

For me its the HBK-4G(F). AC20, 3xML, STD engine. It was pretty awesome before the quirkining, now its brutal. I have a pal who swears by the YLW for the same work, but I don't own a YLW and find it hard to justify spending MC on it when I've got the HBK-4G(F).

Runners up: Firebrand and CN9-AH(L)

You got it red rider.

HBK-4G(F) is my go to money maker, heart breaker, life taker.

Love my YLW, no lie, but the HNK just fits me like a glove now.

Only other mechs beside the 4G that I even consider are the YLW and my ZEU-6S.
