* More GXP (like 5x or 10x)
* Or lose the "3 variants to master"
I recently spent my first money on this game ($120) and got a bunch of mechbays, a mastery pack, and then like 5 or 6 hero mechs while on sale.
After spending my 120 bucks, rather than saying, "sweet, now I can enjoy the game more!" I've been feeling more like "oh god, should I spend another 120 bucks just to master all these mechs???" (My stalker has like 200k xp I could exchange for gxp, but that costs real money)
Probably much more than that, since I would need 2x variants of all the Heros I bought..... so that's once again either real money, or weeks of my life....
I still love this game, but lordie.....
I'm still working to master 4 mechs for CW.
Do You Get Me? Months of playing, and 125 bucks spent, and I STILL cant join CW with any confidence....
I've never done CW.... not once....
Oh and my favorite mech, the Stalker, with like 200k xp..... I cant even buy colors, or camo for.... so I vote a third fix. Let us buy those things with xp....
I'm over it, I erased my whole post three times, cuz I'm just ranting... but forget it, this time Ill just post.

The F2P concept is horrible to begin with.
While it's not bad to give PGI money, it's your money and since they break up with the publisher it's different then before but i did notice decrease of quality. For example mechs, textures and more. Things you can buy with MC. Makes me sad.

Where "1" is like spend 20 bucks, and get 100% of content
And "10" is like.... what they charge now....
I would like a little more bang for my buck.

many price.
I do think its a bit on the expensive side, but dont mind it too much as long as the game is frequently gaining new content and features.

Imho you just spent money without thinking about it. Not that i didn't do something like that, but normally I just buy a single hero mech for a chassis I already have.
Only exception is the Hugginn, that I bought because... I think it's alistair's fault with his hymn of praise for it after the quirks.... oh and I was drunk, maybe that, too.

I'm not trying to be a downer, I just hope the CM reads this, (along with 1000 other similar threads)
I honestly think if the economy improves, they will make MORE MONEY!
Sure some people buy whatever you throw down, but I imagine there are a lot of borderline poor people like me, who spend MORE when we feel it is worth it....

"Ok here is your 5 dollar scotch, now before you can enjoy it, will you plz pay for these other two scotches you dislike, and spend 10 minutes drinking each one.... then tip me 2 bucks,
and then.... yeah, you can enjoy this 5 dollar one......"
P.S. sarcasm intended for point

Remember, PGI is a business, not a social program.

For example Resistance pack would have given you 4 complete chassis kits for mastery, 4 of those mechs basically are heros, 60 days premium, 3 Loyalty mechs (if offer was still on?), lots of colors, camos, horns. And change left over for whatever.

Mastered the 3F quickly, and then SLOWLY started to try other mechs.
I'm not a real newb.
I now have a mastered Arrow, and Huggin.
All the hero mechs I bought I plan to master.... well most....
My point is, its SLOW....... and I don't like the 3 variants rule....
I think of all my bitching tonight, that's the one thing that is depressing me.
I don't even mind buying them, its playing them.
Every time I buy a mech simply to master the one I want, i'm torn.... "do I master it with MC, or bite the bullet, and grind this thing?"
But I refuse to spend the MC, because that's not paying for something, that's simply paying to NOT do something....

Are you saying 120 is not enough to join CW?
Or are you saying I'm bad?

I've recently bought three variants of Battlemaster. Three evenings later they are full-basic. I sold one and left the two which seems more effective. Both already has the speed tweak.
Considering all the weekend events PGI giving for us with loads of free content, I think MWO has a very good economy. People like you of course are ruling those out entirely for the sake of your argument. If GXP gains will be increased, the game progression will shrink terribly for the people who are willing to spend more time for the game than you are.

let me just add the fact that this is a game that needs to be played to be a even mediocre player. A few hundred matches and several 'good' games does mean nothing, when you are pitted against players thAt have 10000+ games on their accounts. This does not mean those who play the most are the best, but the difference is considerable. That in mind the 30 to 40 matches to master a mech are nothing but a warm up and training to learn the chassis.

I'm saying that you could spend 1000 dollars on the game, but that doesn't make you ready for CW. you need a stable of mechs that you are very comfortable with first, all mastered and with all the modules you need. Only then should you think about CW, AND THEN only if you are in a unit or, if we are lucky, PGI makes CW more open to solo players.
