Great even, thanks a lot! And its wery plesed to see some of my ideas work (i.e. "events with prices that player can choose itself" - offered this few events ago and now its here.. great feeling even if pgi did it by itself while my post was ignored).

P.S. and by the way - while this event lasts it looks like we got more then allways "oldschool" players here so CW games are more fun even when we are losing :P

Very good to see the numbers this event bought to CW, I hope this at least leaves some reminisce to the number of people playing.

Arduous experience to finish the Weekend Challenge. Played 21 matches (1 did not count), of which only had 3 wins.

Losses: 18
Wins: 3
Matches Against Clans: 20
Matches Against InnerSphere: 1 (On Skye as defending against Merik invasion)
Average Score for Qualifying Matches: 170
Lowest Score for Qualifying Matches: 80
Highest Score for Qualifying Matches: 256
Non-Qualifying Match Score: 61

Funny thing is, all 3 wins against the Clans were on Grim Portico map. And in all cases we (InnerSphere) only won because the Clan side had a single disconnected player.

I chose the Stormcrow-Prime as the prize (even though I already have one from my Clan Wave 1 package).

Thanks for a great event! 20/21 games, I can live with :)

CW got some shine, and hopefully this will lead to better things!

Fun event. I don't normally play CW but this encouraged me to do so. Darn ghost drop tarnishing my perfect score. Lots of fun this weekend. Leveled up my faction rank twice over these games too leading to more stuff.

I played both IS and Clan during the tournament, and portico strikes me as the most balanced map yet. Guess because it allows relatively easily to negate the range advantage and has a lot of dense cover, which is very benefitial for slower mechs. Still won most of my clan games there by a notable margin.

Fun map in any way, my favorite in CW, really rewards situational awareness. Couldn't find any abusive strategies or design-pitfalls yet.

Really fun event. Felt far less grindy for me than some of the previous ones. Somehow managed to get 2 unqualified ones in a row even though I take getting at least 80 pretty much for granted, so 20/22. I don't usually even do so much damage, just pop an UAV in a good place and get bunch of points for negating all those Hellbringer ECMs. Have been starting to carry my weight in kills more and more, though.

I play IS mech fairly exclusively and this Stormcrow feels like a beast for me, even though you good players probably scoff at the notion. First time I took it for a spin I got 5 kills. Normally I feel lucky if I get 1 or 2. Thanks for free stuff, PGI.

Thanks for the free stuff (not counting the dangling things, but the cash, the mech and the bay (through house promotion)), PGI.

My experience for the play-20-get-1-free weekend was very mixed. In short:
• still too long waiting for a game. 10-15 minutes not playing is waste of my precious free time, IMHO
• 1 match with very friendly, very patient 10-man pre-made from a well known unit on my team
• 1 match with - excuse the term - 8-man pre-made a-holes* from another (unknown to me) unit on my team
• some very nice PUG vs. PUG matches - we even beat the clanners once in a while
• some lessons learned about meta
• some tricks learned about CW strategies
• The new map is very nice. The short distances help gameplay a lot.
• learned that this was not a tournament but a give-away for playing 20 CW-matches, since 80 points is ridiculously easy.

* I should clarify: Those people that were using VOIP or in-game-chat were very arrogant, impatient with noobs and thus downright a... Those were mainly 3-4 people of the pre-made.

Most importantly: (read this PGI, this is important!!!)
• CW-experience really seems to have improved from the influx new players FOR new/non-competitive PUGs
• 80 match score seems to be a valid possibility to prevent light rushes.

Fun event, once rofl-stomped by NKVA, once I derped hard. 20/22 is ok for me. Got myself the TDR-9SE(C) just for giggles. Would it have been a nice Clan Reinforcement Mech my choice would have been different.

Thank you PGI, for the free stuff!

@ PFC Carsten: 80 match score to prevent zerg rushes? Hm, in this event yes. Under normal conditions I would prefer a minimum drop weight of 600t for either side.

Non-comms pugging and got my 20 off 23 games. Would play CW more often if the wait times were as reasonable was they were now. Much worse outside of this challenge and just waiting what little time I have to play the game.

This was a great event, the Steiner groups really pulled together we has 12mans dropping Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It was grand. I did 20 matches for my 20 points, figure about 6hours in game. The quality of gameplay was great as well, good show clans you put up a good fight.

I believe I went 18/20 win/loss over the weekend, huge props to Steiner drop commanders Bront & Count. Match scores were averaging 180 for me. This event really helped my flesh out my drop deck as well.

It was a good test of the CW system, when the bodies were there the games were great.

I took the thunderbolt, its my first of the chassis.

Suggestion:
Perhaps in light of this event the salvage portion of CW needs to reward actual gear to players. Such as ammo, weapon systems ETC. This is cannon of course and runs with supply catches and salvaging downed mechs. Stands to reason a group holding territory or protecting an orbital weapon platform would have a supply catche.
As such the team attaching in such a case would claim those salvage rights.
Awarding players random things (but aligned with IS or Clans) such as ammo, weapons systems, engines (low chance) or omni pods (low chance) would certainly bring in the community. The experienced players drop CW for the competition, the newer players would certainly drop for the chance of gaining gear in additional to the usual Cbill, XP etc.

Anyway thanks PGI

I must be the minority then, as for me it was just aweful. The event is ending soon and no time to do the minimal points

3 points so far and 23 matches done in CW
