More like PGI has awoken the PUGs....and given them Mr Gargles as a trial.

Nothing good could ever come of that. At least IS trials aren't stock robots.

So when pugs play pugs, clan pugs get utterly annihilated, probably why Mr. Frost said 4 more clan mechs are getting quirk pass on top of the original 4. If you don't bring timbers and stormcrows you lose...hard.

that would be great, too bad all we dropped against were nothing but laser vomit Tiberwolves, Stormcrows, and hordes of Hellbringers.

OK the occasional Guasswolf and LRM Warhawk too.

Let me know when you drop in something else.

OK. Then may I suggest Is dropping in nothing other the tier 3 or less mechs. You know maybe slow your lights down to 106.9 and assaults to 50 and make them wade as a barn.

You know clans only have like 3 of each weight class to choose from.

1. Lights are almost a not worth mentioning. Lylx is ok at best.
2. Meds, why would you anything other than a Crow?
3. Heavy, well Timber and Hell. Only reason to bring a Hell is if you need some ECM in the group.
4. Assault, for CW 100 tons and slowwww. Gar, well its 5 tons more than a timber with less the load out NOPE.

Maybe when there is like 10 to choose from in each weight and more that 1 being worth bringing you will see some variety. But on the flip side, if you really want a decent IS CW drop deck that is competitive the options are "almost as limited as the clans. But "IF" you are using them in conjunction with others doing the same you would be right on par with clans.

I did a double take this weekend when I saw some pugs in stock Gargoyle Primes. That's the 2 LB5X, 2 SRM 6, 1 ER Small Gargoyle. It also only has one ton of ammo slotted for each weapon. That was a popular pug Trial assault this weekend. The other common trial I saw was the Hellbringer Prime, which explains the sudden explosion in Hellbringer numbers this weekend. Stock it comes with ECM, so it is probably the most attractive Trial to new players, but it is actually crap for CW too. The stock design has very thin armor, worse than most Clan mediums, making it harder for new players to survive long enough to do anything significant with it other than be an ECM umbrella for their team. It also has too many conflicting weapon types that tend to confuse new players and throw off their aim and weapons group management, and is also way too heat inefficient to do much with its main armament of 2 ER PPCs, suffering from Adder syndrome but not benefiting from the Adder's small size and mobility quirks.

Compare these kinds of designs to the IS trials, and you'll see how much better they are. Champion mechs are not stock designs and are far superior to stock Clan trials. There really aren't any Clan stock designs that fit in with the current meta, so of course the trials are going to suck. If that's what new pilots are piloting in CW, then... well. Behold the results of the weekend event. And its not just new pilots either, it could be people who recently switched to Clans but don't yet own enough customized variants, and had to use the Trials as deck fillers.

For the record, the unit I roll with has regularly jumped from faction to faction to sample all of the fights, so I've played CW with just about all the Clan and IS factions for at least a couple of weeks, and fought using both side's mechs, so I'm not just pointing this Trial disparity out from a biased standpoint because I'm Smoke Jag at the moment of this post.

Problem is for some reason there were no Smoke Jaguar Attacks on kuritan worlds. There used to be a decent number of attacks on kurita, lots of sucessful attacks involving Smoke Jaguar PUGs against IS PUGs. Where have those people gone?
I was fighting IS novice pilots and killing those easily these past days. There were a couple of organized Kurita units such as MERCS that were difficult to deal with but otherwise opposition I encountered was weak from kurita.

I have noticed that "-MS-" has joined kurita, the third strongest unit in CS (counting captured planets) but still why hasn't there been a Jaguar attack on Kuritan worlds?

Have Jaguars lost that many units and players?

Hail,

All time low for numbers, very few online these days. If you think it is bad now, wait till Star Citizen gets closer to release :D

Breaking point for me was the Clan Tweaks, complete joke and many players are going to Inner Sphere instead. I put this all at the feet of PGI (we totally know what were are doing).

Same Mechs all the time is just boring as hell.

Seyla,

Problem was we left too Mickey...

Have had about 6 SA guys in CW at any given time all week. It dead and no one wants to PUG stomp so whats the point of playing?

There needs to be a big rework to CW if they plan to have peeps come back. Its dead to me...

Yea Smoke Jag has pretty much abandoned CW. No one gets online for it. Literally just 1-3 12 man groups and a few pugs. Even JGx has pretty much ceased CW.

ya, it does look like CSJ is throwing it all away.

For me, the drive to terra got boring before the event and still is after the event. (A linear experience only goes so far before it gets stale)
Too few player's on to win a planet vs all the IS defending or attacking.
Clan vs IS matches turned into a power creep war of extended range pin point high damage alpha strikes vs higher tonnage with over quirked IS mechs with pin point high damage alpha strikes. (No symmetry in balance, just more who gets to take the best drop deck over each other which limits diversity in tactics)

At least, the Ice ferret rushes were new. Most likely, the inner sphere Cicada with ECM would do a medium rush better.

All in all, just plain boring.

I hear a lot of excuses in this post.

I'd suggest you learn how and why people are successful before making incorrect blanket statements.

I can understand boredom... but I don't understand the unwillingness to adapt and play better.

Well it is hard to play Clans atm. All we hear are strident cries of P2W (really though IS heroes are only P2W atm) Certainly reports from the other side of the fence don't sound alarming regarding IS mech effectiveness (DERP)? There is some thought (amongst the admittedly small WrGd) of running nice Stk Tdr Tdr Rvn(ecm) decks and checking out IS. We may wait til the reset. I don't think people get tired of the gameplay so much as all the bitching and moaning from poorly optimized IS decks to gloating from the well planned decks. OH well most clan players have IS mechs (and personally sitting on 380 million cbills) which gives a world of IS opportunity. (I remember BSM as Smoke Jag)
