My time is significantly reduced, but through no fault of the game or PGI.

Remodeling a house and buying another really cuts into my time. Hopefully be back to normal mid-May.

One of the single most stressful times to be a home owner

I'm suffering from a bit of burn out atm so i'm on break

I'm playing considerably less recently. partly because of real life work... and partly because of very repetitive gameplay.

I usually play as a pug and pug games have just 1 game mode (assault/conquest/skirmish are the same actually... some have better spawn points though).

CW is a nice challenge for occasional pugging but 1- wait times take forever (talk about 15mins average... even on populated planets) and 2- full drop decks of trials along side you gets boring fast.!

My playtime has been significantly reduced and it's because I'm not satisfied with the game's content, the horribly boring and awful ever present grindfest to make any new mech or even have enough modules and such for older mechs, and various balance issues whether big or small. I will say that overall balance has clearly improved since I started playing, so I will give PGI credit for that, but there are still remaining issues.

The grinding is what discourages me from playing the most, I am simply tired of it and rather than paying an assload of money for hero mechs & premium time to make it a little better I will simply not play (aside from some events if they're attractive enough) and not spend any money as a result.

That and my potato cant handle the CW...sad is me.

Started and stopped several times now. I start when something new and interesting is added, then stop again when the shiny doesn't quite cover up the interminable grind underneath.

I just wish all these brilliant, beautiful Mechs and the brilliant, beautiful scenery could be used for complex, objective-based gameplay missions that explore the depth of the universe rather than grindy, repetitive Meta-TDM.

Why play a game that goes no where?

All games go nowhere. That's part of what makes them games. They're a diversion, entertainment. A chance to screw around with something that has no impact on your life. Nothing personal, Joe, but right here you remind me of the guys that said the game was pointless without community warfare. I'm like, what? Even with CW the game is pointless. It puts no money in your pocket or otherwise alters your real life situation. If people want a game that has real impact on their lives they can cash out the life savings and go to Vegas.

Stopped all together, but as with many others, not through the fault of PGI.

My gaming computer 'sploded, and then I entered into my final semesters of college. So, rather than sink more money into a new rig, I decided to use this opportunity to unplug so I could focus on finishing my senior year strong.

I still follow the forums, and will probably play again, soon. Thinking a new gaming rig might make a nice graduation gift to myself....

I think what he is getting at is that he would like the game to have more depth. Not that it needs to fulfill any lifetime achievement goals.

If people want something over-arching that connects battles and such I'm all for it. But I think too many people (not saying Joe or anyone else specifically is one of them) sat there and griped about how the game was meaningless without CW. Well, I'd love for someone to tell me exactly what meaning CW was supposed to bring. Because the long and short of it is still going out there and shooting virtual giant robots for recreation.

I reduced playing four months ago and now I've stopped since geometry updates. Just not feeling it anymore. Might come back in a month or two and see what it's looking like.

I dont know, I wasnt there. But my guess would be that they wanted more than a 5 map rotation with 3 versions of team death match. I can get more than that with a single purchase of Call of Duty for about 50 bucks and it comes with a campaign, yet PGI wants to charge upwards of 100 bucks or more for a single mech pack and we all still just get the same 5 maps with 3 versions of Team Death Match just with different mechs every few months.

Dont get me wrong, its a good little game and I like it and I can definitely see how people can become fans, but 5 maps only goes so far. People kind of want more bang for their buck after a while. Especially the long time Battle Tech fans I would suspect.

So I guess then comes the CW. Which was supposed to be the next step in content I guess. But its still in beta. It only has a handful of maps and has a lot of stuff to be worked out yet.

I dont think anyone is asking for the next ground breaking idea. Just more than whats in place right now. Especially since a lot of these people are paying for premium time plus mech packs. That adds up to a whole lot of money ( think I seen one guy say he has spent over 1000 bucks on this game so far). Especially when the premium based MMO's only charge 15 bucks a month for unlimited access and gobs of content, and these poor souls here get 5 maps and done.

I quit long ago in protest at community warfare being delayed. I never returned, as it was not at all the game I hoped for.

I let 8 months of premium time run out unused. This is my first visit to check on the progress in a very long time.

lol really? I was being a smart alec with the 5 thing, but hey.. if all you can pull out of that entire thing in your defense is a single digit then by all means, have it my friend.

I'm playing more atm. Tournaments, a diverse meta and experimenting with new or unusual mechs is a lot of fun right now.

In my defense? I was being attacked?

Look, I'm not saying anyone is obligated to be happy or not be happy with the way things are. But I asked for someone to explain to me what meaning CW was supposed to bring to the game, and you went off on this big tangent about 5 maps (and looked kinda' dumb in doing so) and saying each of the non-CW game modes was just TDM. Not only did you fail to answer the only real issue in the post you quoted, you proceeded to go off on what I can only assume are your own personal issues with the game.

If you trade i have a route for you:

1) KAMOKAN , danforth , buy Marine equipement

2) INDRACHIT Ickan hub , sell marine equipement and buy imperial slaves

3) GRIDGE salpeter terminal , sell slaves and buy gold o paladium (if it's near 12,600 buy paladium , if not , buy gold)

4) Go back to KAMOCAN Danforth , sell the paladium or gold

5) Repeat the route.

my pathern has been
play evry day ->play most days->play on the events -> play some events.
im sure il play maby a week when the urbie comes out and another week whenever the varriant of the dire goes out on cbills.
but the game has become stale and pointless for me atleast.it sorely needs new guns , a solaris mode with leaderboard and more dynamic cw with elements that make each faction atleast have something that make them stand out.
but thats the norm now with games, play until you get bored and pop in once a year to see what progress has been made.
