I've been playing this game too much...
Like, "pretty-much-every-day-for-a-couple-hours-or-more" too much ever since I joined back in closed beta.

And guess what? I ain't stoppin' until there's nobody left for me to shoot at.

Haven't played since....I think December? Then again I have been playing World of Tanks a lot so that takes up that certain space.

I think I logged in once since I left for out of state work back in early January. Most of my game time is tied up between Heroes of the Storm and working my way through NG+ on Bloodborne these days.

I should have been more excited to see my Ebon Jaguar up in the wave 3, but this time around I looked at it and pretty much decided it wasn't worth my money.

Most forum users man. Forum users are mostly long-time players. Playing long-time always make game more or less stale. Mainly due to repetitiviness :P What results in playing less and/or taking breaks. It's a normal process. Had exactly the same pattern with every MMO I played so far. Will have the same issue with this game, but hopefully I'm a newbie here. Lots of content to explore yet, and the game seems to develop really rapidly atm. (New map every month, new mechs added/made F2P since I got here, new CW modes, looking for group feature that hopefully will enable pugs to for at least somewhat effective ad hoc teams...).

Sorry for interrupting your thread, old farts senior players :P

I play maybe one or two matches a day now. Just bored to tears. See the same crap every match and it gets boring.

Just waiting for the next patch to see if anything sparks my interest.

I use too play MWO a lot but recently I went back too Mech warrior living legends due too the player spike increase over there. I feel MWLL offers more in terms of mechwarrior. But I still play MWO

I would have quit this game if it wasn't for CW. The public pug queue is meaningless to me and I am pretty tired of it except for leveling mechs, testing new configurations and practicing some skills. The feelings and reasons are pretty much the same of what many has said in this thread.

CW actually increased my time in playing MWO in the last three months since it was introduced. Its the only thing thats keeping me in MWO.

I have consistently got at least 10 hours or more of MWO in a month since launch.

Some months have been higher, as things like "life", "other games", and "other things to do than play games" have come and gone. Other than that it's mostly been down to how I feel each day regards stompy-death-bot-pewpewpew, as there is only so much PvP-with-no-campaign I can play of anything.

I know there is an NDA, but, where we are right now...

does it look like HGA will dethrone MWO in the (incredibly limited) market of mech-sim-lites?

It has player's kdr on the top of the home page. that sent alarm bells RINGING instantly.

With MWO I have reached a point where I have all the mechs I need on my main account. I hate playing in the pug queues frankly, due to the way the playerbase plays. It simply isn't relaxing or fun.
I'd prefer to do CW exclusively but alas, playerbase seems to be too super casual oriented for that so that's out.
My clan alt account...well...I'm not sure I should buy wave three to be honest. They are just going to get nerfed to cack like the rest, again. $120 for stuff that is going to get the nerf hammer? Not a fool 3 times:P

I play now because of my unit, without it I doubt I'd play at all. Not PGI's fault, the payerbase is to blame here.

@LordBraxton It's early stages, but if the Devs get the stuff done that they promised, it will be a phenomenal game. Basically, it gives the player everything that MWO couldn't give (ingame community interaction and socialization, lobbies, bots, single player mode, deep customization, esports environment, immersion outside of the mech, marketplace, ctf, Unreal Engine 4, Threat Value system, custom games where clans can go against clans with custom game modes and maps, spectator modes, betting on games, player sponsorship, bounties on gamers).

This is just the tip of the iceberg. I signed on to test this game Alpha because if the devs deliver, Heavy Gear Assault will be big news. MWO won't die, and I doubt it ever will, but the mech game that people talk about will be Heavy Gear, I'm sure.

Yes I have reduced playing because is very frustrating for a game. At least I have the confirmation that the balancing system does not work, since I have loss streaks that last 4 days and after thousand games I am under 1.0 of W/L - K/D ratio.

I stopped playing a while ago.

CW was a great vision in my mind based off of the details that were pitched to me dozens of months ago. I poured hundreds of dollars into numerous packages and since I've felt a little betrayed that this game has not shaped into what I paid for.

In order for me to take this game seriously again, the following needs to happen (for me)

- CW queues need to be separated into two categories: 1-4 man, and 12 man premade. Lobbies can be set up to help people looking for a group.
- More variety in maps/modes
- No more queuing for specific planets' attack/defense. ALL CW queues go into a single bucket for which a planet is randomly selected for an attack/defense. Premade 12 man groups can still choose to attack/defend specifically and which planet.
-The normal MM queue for non CW drops gets pushed aside and CW gets made the default choice for playing.

That last two bullet points get a little more explaining:

I've tried CW several times, which each time the queue going over 10 minutes long. THEN, I have to wait longer to see if anyone from the opposing side wants to play too? Only to drop into an empty match where it's just "shoot the turrets, yay we win"? That's not a fun game, and it's certainly not the one I wanted to help pay for.

For the very last point there - There's not enough players in the current CW format to sustain enough fun to get this game where it needs to be, this being my opinion of course. However, when you're a solo player trying to have fun in a metagame for which you paid hundreds of dollars to see come to fruition, only to basically exclude you, it's slightly infuriating. If we default matches to CW, the player base will instantly increase and queue times will drop. Combine that with the separation of 12 man premades to fight only 12 mans, and eliminate the 1-4 man groups ability to queue specifically for a single planet's attack/defense will dramatically reduce wait times for queuing.

Think about how WoW handled PvP in its infancy. I understand it's a different game but hear me out:

You had 10v10 (Warsong Gulch), 15v15 (Arathi Basin), and 40v40 (Alterac Valley) in addition to a few others, but those ones were the early battlegrounds. Players could group up and queue for PvP in any group size. Players who wanted to be hypercompetitive grouped up and got on teamspeak and rolled, but then they started to encounter other premade teams because of their ranking system. Typically, this lead to the medium level matches being a mix of small groups and individuals, with the occasional premade making its way through the ranks. This left a great taste in my mouth as a gamer, because I could stay competitive and have fun with low queue times and it didn't require almost any pre-planning. If CW in MWO was staged similarly, we could see queue times drop from 10-15 minutes to 1-5 minutes at most. Imagine a queue system where you just clicked "Community warfare drop", and selected your mech(s) to use, and it just auto picked a planet for attack/defend and matched you with other players at similar skill level. Sounds nice doesn't it?

So the TL:DR - Reduce queue times by making CW the default mode of play, combine all CW queues for planets and attack/defend to a singular queue, still have the ability for 12 man premades to choose but they only play against other premades, and make a few more maps/modes.

If that happens, I think this game will have a high chance of success.

Hello

this is for people who have been here for more than 6 months. have you reduced your MWO play time? or completely stopped? or increased your playtime of it?

whats the reason?

for me it has been reduced.. kind of a temporary break till more maps come out (even for CW).. and due to hig pings i have started to get after last 2 patches. so my game time is now down to 1 hour or less every day

ive reduced game play quite a bit. due to the lack of viability of clan mechs. ive spent several hundred on them, but i am not getting my money worth, and the bad taste this leaves has me playing different games. i left orld of tanks for this same issue..
