While this may have been an April Fool's joke, it really would be the best idea to balance the game.
Where there is differentiation between Clan and Inner Sphere, simply use the worse option:
All weapons and equipment and upgrades use Inner Sphere stats.
Add the missing Ultra/LBX/ER/Streak weapons, again using Inner Sphere stats.
No fixed equipment at all.
All super-customizable gunbags.
Only cosmetics and hardpoints differ.
Might as well turn this into Generic Giant Stompy Robot Combat Game #247, as that's the way it's headed. Better to p!ss off the very small minority of players -- those that care about the lore and the BattleTech universe -- rather than hear the incessant whining of the majority that X or Y or Z isn't balanced. Plus then they could introduce any type of weapons they wanted and they wouldn't have to adhere to some arbitrary timeline.
