How so? 10+5 splash damage for 15 heat, no matter how bad it maybe overall, is still better than 10 damage for 15 heat.

Again, when you are comparing dmg to lasers which spread a whole lot more of their damage then the whole PPD argument goes out the window. Not to mention the 2.5 dmg isn't the only damage those other locations will take so it does have a worth while effect.

The only weapon quirks should be 15 damage erppc or plash the IS version 1.5. 7. 1.5 Weapons specific for cooldowns on Certain mechs, Adder, Warhawk, Summoner all of the above plus rate of fire and cooling increases.

All other quirks should be structural buffs Warhawk torsos , adder legs, Ice ferret Ct torso arms buffs, Nova structure buffs make it alot i mean alot more Tanky but leave it Hot. Mist Lynx all around structure armor buffs, Gargoyle Armor buffs, since Clans are heat gimped for brawling make them harder too kill especially if they get side torso Loss Gimps and up Fix the autocannons damage rate of fire or flppd.

You would have a point IF the netcode could support simple crap like chain firing and IF there were heat quirked clan mechs.
......neither of which we have

P.S. you don't usually get all of the splash, splash doesn't hit the heat (like SSRMs) and doesn't double up, so hit the arm, leg or head and you lose 2.5 damage that you are still paying full heat for.
