Honestly how can a game manage to corrupt it self?

I am really growing tired of the amount of times i have to repair this game just because it has a wonky code somewere which make my game go mad and manage to corrupt some game files.

This is one of the irritating factors. I hope the new patcher will solve alot of problems.

I litterally have to run the repair tool twice after each patch. Not to mention the times which it just does not load any map but crashes instead.

Did memory checks, did a healthy disk check, PSU whatever it may be hardware related: all fine.

This one stumped me too..
Either the repair tool is wrong or the periodic patch screwing things up.

MISMATCHED FILES:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Game\Objects.pak-->http://patcher.mwomercs.com/patch/Production/live/Game/Objects.pak

This is the most common one.

I need to download 1,4 GB...what the hell.

I suggest going direct to 'http://patcher.mwomercs.com/patch/Production/live/Game/Objects.pak' on your browser, download and keep a copy. If only I knew the MD5 CRC for it.

Will do.

Just as i have expected.
Second round. Because of the .pak files missing, (the repair tool says otherwise) i need to run the repair tool again.

It downloaded 1,4 GB worth of files. So, where did these go? Now when i try to run the game again it says it's missing again.

Thanks for wasting another 1,4 GB of data. This is the thing always pisses me off.

To me it seems the patcher have the MD5 or something wrong. Like two version is not comparing it before applying it.

The patcher eats a huge amount of additional space during patching. It will break if you can just barely fit the game on whatever drive you use.

There's plenty of space left on my Intel SSD. About 90 GB.

RAM should not cause any problems either. Got 16 GB of HyperX ram.

It's the sh1tty client. Positive. I have no other problems with other games.

This happens to me a lot but honestly I think I have a fault with my computer because a similar thing happened with PlanetSide 2. I have run memtest a few times which came back OK so I don't think it's the RAM.

I always use direct we links to get the files (like http://patcher.mwome...ame/Objects.pak) rather than the repair tool because it's faster and always works (whereas sometimes the repair tool will re-download but the file will still be corrupt).

You can use 7Zip to check which .pak files are broken.

I think Objects.pak is more susceptible to getting broken because it's the biggest file (by far).

Honestly at this point I wouldn't rule out your computer having a fault, based on my experience with this issue.

all i can say is that i didnt had to run repair tool once because it was needed, i just done it out of curiosity.
my complete pc is just a year old with win 8.1
i barely get any DC's anymore (just some of the typical cryengine errors.... but thats like 2 times a week)
so i cant say that the client is not stable =/

since the patches are quite big.... what about connection/routing problems?

make a bat file that copies the pak files folder to another location. Whenever it gets corrupt, copy the files back with another bat file.

If you get lots of corruption, restart the computer after each crash. If you have a SSD it should only take 10-15 seconds. If it takes longer use autoruns to remove things that slowdown your start up.

If you reboot after each crash the game will no longer corrupt.

Then there is the ultimate answer, I copied the entire folder for MWO to another hard disk, use it as my file repository.... and also a second instance of the game. This allows me to launch a different instance after some crashes and eliminates a lot of reboots.

This sounds extreme, but I almost never get corrupt files anymore... and I never have to redownload 1.4GB files.

You keep the one you downloaded and copy over to the game folder where all the pak files are...
Problem with Repair tool is that it deletes the files it thinks are corrupt.

Here are exact batch files:

pakbak.bat
xcopy "g:\games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\*.cfg" "F:\games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\" /s /d /r /h /y
xcopy "g:\games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Game\*.*" "F:\games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Game\" /s /d /r /h /y

xcopy "C:\Users\Surn\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online\Profiles\*.*" "G:\games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\USER\Profiles" /s /d /r /h /y

getpak.bat
xcopy "F:\games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Game\*.pak" "G:\games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Game\" /s /d /r /h /-y

some of this is extra as it also backs up my user settings, so each my G: and F: drive game version have all my user files.. JUST IN CASE
