Q: How do I convert 'Mech XP to General XP?

A: Head to your Skills > 'Mech Trees menu

• Click the 'Mech Tree button for whichever 'Mech you want to perform the exchange with

The 'Mech must have completed the Basic Skills tree before you can exchange its XP for GXP.

Nothing wrong with it, real $ can be a lot easier to come by than grinding for cBills.
Champions come upgraded and in some cases with the necessary XL engine for the chassis so $5 can save you a whole days worth or Paulconomy slow grinding.

It's not the same. Technically, the store has a markup of price while in-game paid MC would be affected by sales (bonus MC sale or actual discounts on mechs).

So, paying for a 50% Premium Time deal ingame is vastly different from trying to buy the same quantity from the gift store because the gift store is probably NOT EVER going to be affected by a sale (at least up to this point in time since its launch).

Also, buying Premium Time in-game would immediately be running... whereas the same quantity of time @ the Gift Store would only activate once you login to the game (assuming, you redeemed the gift).

When PGI dumped IGP they made the smart move of replacing limited scope sales and heavy discounts (almost only hero's and colors), with broad choice and lower discounts.
We get more choice, more often, on items we previously couldn't expect a discount on, and PGI doesn't give up so much cut.
I wouldn't expect 50% hero sales anymore.

Bundles are already about 50% off near as I can tell. Doubt they would discount them more for just a weekend sale.
