Like what is shown here.... :) ?

wait? What? thats not slow. no way something with that small of a stock engine could move that fast let alone carry anything impressive.

Inferior ACs, no hardpoint inflation, potentially stuck with Standard Structure and no Ferro....

Well...depends how badly PGI gimps Clam battlemechs. They didn't give the Terribad Omni's any love.

But he's Soy, so he's qualified to dictate all things, even how the Meta played out when he wasn't even playing the game.

UAC5. If you're already enjoying the challenge of piloting an Urbie with giant damage magnet legs then a randomly jamming main weapon can only add to the experience.

If PGI did step up the timeline and give us new weapons, I'd have to buy an Urbie just to see if I could cram a heavy gauss on it.

This is the best I can do with an XL100 and using AMS ammo to replicate the tonnage and slots used to upgrade from gauss to heavy gauss. With worse than stock armour, and only enough tonnage for 6 rounds of heavy gauss... I mean, it would work... except for two things:
  • heavy gauss cannot be mounted on arms, because the recoil is great enough to break a mech's arm
  • heavy gauss recoil would probably knock down the entire Urbie, even if it could mount it properly.

I will wait and see. I shall be sticking to my own personal rules of playing every 'Mech stock until I get a kill, so I expect that after 20-30 games per variant i will have a decent amount of suggestions.

Why would i want a timeline jump?

-timeline jump
-strip the trashcan
-strap RAC/5 or RAC/10 and fill it up with ammo
-???

Used by convicts with a death sentence, it was a basic Urbie, using ones that were not deemed worth repairing or upgrading. 24 RL10s were strapped to it (12 front, 12 back), front and back along with a single coolant pod. They would wait in destroyed buildings, shut down. When WoB units passed them, they would power up, jump in the middle of the formation, alpha strike, fire their coolant pod, and try to escape. Those who survived were granted a partial pardon and assigned to a Black Widows inspired penal unit, those who died had a substantial sum of money delivered to a recipient of their choice.

Other than the substantial sum of money part, it sounds like something the Cappies would do.

Not all that substantial. Part of the storyline is that Hsien's scrapyards contain a sizeable mothball of of, obsolete and scrapped mechs, mostly from the 4th Succession War. Stingers, Valkyrie's and mostly..... Urbanmechs.

Most of the militias force is built off raiding that. The BoomMartyrs are simply the scrapped Jennie deemed not work fixing, fired with one of the cheapest and most basic weapon systems.

if you want armor and ammo for that AC20, an XL is pretty mandatory.

No... It's almost impossible to run an AC20 and an XL. Tonnage difference is miniscule at that point (I think half a ton?) but the 6 slots are needed for the FF. You've pretty much got to run the stock engine.

Me, though?

I'll run:

LB-X AC10
LPL/MG
and a random build that'll change all the time.

One will have an AC/20, one will have an AC/10, and one will be an Energy variant.
