Wow. Imagine firing two or even three of those...at the same time! I hope PGI nerfs them soon.

My 4 C-ERLL Timber Wolf already has its armor turn yellow sometimes if I'm shot by one, and this is simply unacceptable. If you read the lore and dogmatically ported rules balanced around a tabletop game directly to an online first person mech shooting game, you would know this. I didn't pay MULTIPLE real, United States dollars for clan mechs to win just 64% of my games in them.

Agreed, except for the first person part. It's definitely a 3rd person game (I know there's an optional cockpit mode, but that's just for "immersion").

I keep hearing this 1500m thing. Who is fighting past 1500m on a regular basis enough to warrant the amount of complaints that people keep bringing up? Not like it's more than a, "Boop! Teeheehee," type advantage. Are games being decided by this 1500m cap on IS lasers?

I don't know. I find most fights happen within the 400-800m range, depending on map. Cybertron can get really close encountery really fast XD

The 4-ERLL sniper would be able to do 5 damage at 1696m if range was unlocked. It's not much, but still nontrivial. It's rare that it matters, but I have had some 1500m poke-dances to the death on both sides of using ERLLs.

But this is mostly in that the ERLL's hard limit is just so weird. (Like, if we were to see an Atlas rip out the XL engine from a Dire Wolf and eat it to become more powerful, kind of weird. But I digress...)

CW Maps are brawlfest, PGI Makes em that way, its rare that you can have a clear line of sight of 1500+ on any map except the snow one, and even there clans still outrange you

Then it would be time to fix the issue so is can shoot the ErLL past 1500m?

Once upon a time a young nooblet was looking for a Wise Posting Sensei named Nagato. He heard she lived in the halls of Tir'Na'Nog no Haruhi and sought her out.

"Nagato Sensei Khan Senpai," he addressed her, "I seek knowledge of posting. I know not whether my posts will be funny. I do not know if they will be informative or enlightening. I do not know if my posts will make salient points or if I will be aware of the context of other posts in conjunction with my own".

Nagato Khan Sensei laughed bitterly. "Some people have all the luck".

This is the first legitimately good gameplay suggestion I have seen on this site.

As long as the damage drop off rules still apply...sure. The real question is...is it worth PGI devoting time and resources to this so IS players can scratch paint at extreme ranges? That 5 damage someone was mentioning earlier with 4 ERLL. That's "best case scenario," where you focus the entire beam duration on a single component at that range without spreading/missing any of it, which is pretty much impossible if the target is moving or twisting at all.

Shouldn't it just be changing a number in a text file to change the drawn length of the ER LL? Shouldn't take that much time.

And on Boreal, most of the first wave engagement is an extreme range snipe fest, unless folks hide.

Gas is right, fixing this is literally changing 1 number value from 1500 to 2000. The max draw distance for the weapon is the only thing that needs to be changed as damage falloff is already working correctly.

I do think that fixing this minor bug would give IS an unneeded advantage when it comes to extreme long range, on the other hand fighting rarely happens at that distance anyway. Boreal and Alpine are pretty much the only maps where fighting from 1500m+ is a realistic option.

If the damage drop rule apply, you're looking at opening up the 31%--0% damage range with a base range of 891m (that includes 20% range buff + 12% module). That's 3 damage per laser over 1.25 seconds. It's not much, but it's not nothing. It's enough to force the enemy lights keep their heads down.

As an exclusive Alpine Peaks skirmish player fixing this bug would be greatly appreciated.
