CW is like an ex-girlfriend. You broke up with her because things where going bad, she didn't treat you well, took advantage of you or lied to you. Yet months after the breakup all you can remember is the good stuff and want to see her again. So you call her up, meet with her and think that it's great. Then you realize why you dumped her in the first place, break up with her and repeat the cycle.

Every time I get an itch to play CW I remember how great it seemed. I queue up, get in a full pug group vs. a 12-man all running stalkers wave 1, firestarters wave 2. They start talking trash about how godlike they are. I get disgusted and break up with CW again. A month later I get the itch and try to remember the good it promised.

I'm just so disgusted with it. For someone with a full time job, family and random small windows of free-time, this is not the game mode for you. I want to like it but it offers nothing in return.

1) Stop dropping with Pugs and join a Unit. It doesn't have to be a comp Unit; there are a lot of casual ones out there (like mine) that don't place any requirements on you. Join one of them to improve your cohesion and game results.

2) The House of Lords and some of their affiliates are rude. Apparently, playing video games is the only thing they're good at, so they "lord" it over the rest of us (See what I did there?). Just be the bigger person and realize that such folks of small minds and big egos rarely get ahead in the real world, turn the page, and drop fresh. Not all 12-Mans behave badly.

If you'd like, feel free to drop by our TS to run drops with us. We are primarily IS, but we also have an affiliate Unit that runs Clan (Burrock Reavers). We're casual, won't require you to attend practices, and foster a family-friendly atmosphere (many of us have kids and are in the same boat as you with respect to family, time, and RL responsibilities). Despite being a casual Unit, we recently took Mandate, so we do have some skills. :)

Other than that, the only thing I can recommend is to stop playing CW as you have. CW was designed for Unit play. Pugs are allowed in the door, but need to realize that they will never be able to stack up against a cohesive Unit. There are three other game modes for folks who don't want to mix it up with a Unit.

Sure, what's your TS server? I can't promise any type of regular attendance as I may have an hour to play one week, six the next, all at random times.

The new LFG feature is working well. I recommend you check out the new patch notes.

Nightmare1 has the right of it.

If you keep on doing the same thing, you are probably going to get the same result, so it's probably a better idea to change your own approach to the situation rather than simply complain how much you don't like what you keep doing. At the same time, you are going to find plenty of players who just want MWO to be their tool for getting self-importance, so there isn't much you can do about that except find a team that's better than that.

There's some good advice here.

I wish you luck in finding a good team to play with. Too many players just want to vent about CW rather than do something about it themselves, so more power to you for stepping past that.

I drop in 12 mans and apparently the only ways clans could win is to have a drop deck 100% Ice Ferrets with 1 med pulse, 3 SRM 4's, and keep charging over and over without killing many people.

The problem with that is I only get 60k c-bills at best from that, I could get more from lossing a conquest match and it bothers me that the inner sphere can do what clans can do in rushes from "2-3" (clan) to "1-2" (IS)...

I left CW because it's not like what I remembered, at the start there was a near 50/50 lose/ win and when I do win I get sometimes on the verge of 1 million c-bills with premium time.

now clans lossing 48 planets per day for some time and that number dropped because of how back certain factions are broken up that they lost the option to be attacked by some IS faction.
And when we do win I got peanuts =l

And I heard IS vs IS but I never really asked. I already left CW.

I miss it but sadly 12 man groups kinda ruined it along with technological divide and player divide between each faction.

Also annoying that I can't play my king crab because apparently if clan ghost bear has 90% of the remaining king crabs it obviously means the inner sphere get 100% of it in MW: O aye?

Why do people keep thinking that using hyperbole to bolster the argument actually works?

Isn't this ancient history? Or was your posterior so damaged by them it had to undergo (ironically enough) a Lord's procedure.

maybe because it isn't hyperbole? Clans literally lost 48 planets for a few days till some clans got disconnected from others. (ie stiener and draconis combine to the clan on the other side)

*Shrug* I've killed a few of them so I don't really have a bruised pride. I was being more facetious than anything else. Most folks easily identify them as caustic anyways so I thought it was a cute tongue-in-cheek reference.

I did hear that they broke up but then heard that they didn't. I don't really keep up with that stuff so I don't really know.

Why? You one of them?

If my ex-girlfriend's biggest problem was being "boring and repetitious" then I would say I got off easy.

That's my biggest problem with CW. It's just boring. Chokepoint *********** followed by chokepoint *********** punctuated by generator rushes. If I'm lucky, I get to participate in a spawn camp. How fun.

I'm bored. Map design and game mode design just lend themselves to an incredibly stale experience with an utter lack of variety so I've actually crawled back to the pub queue to have some fun.

Completely agree with eSeifer on this.

Got 3 fairly quick CW drops in last night (Aussie time) at different stages - all via LFG. Fairly quick as in getting a bunch of people together. Most times I never get CW matches in.

At the time the Faction map was not showing much action at all and previously I would just have looked and gone back to solo pugging.

Cheers!

Yes?

4 cycles, 3 fronts (at time), all lost planet to each 3 IS faction.

3 (IS taking planets) x 4 (captures per day) = 12.

12 (sum of above) x 4 (Clans) = 48

this pretty much sums it up right here..... by a massive margin i prefer the solo/group ques over CW. if i was asked to narrow it down to one issue it would be map design 100 times out of 100. and actually i coudl blanket all of MWO with that issue

Not the whole game. I have great fun in the solo-only queue with most matches being close 12-10 or so and stomps rare. Never running into 10 to 12-man premade teams is its own reward.

Except it was really 53 planets from FRIDAY MARCH 27th 10:00:00 AM (PDT) to TUESDAY MARCH 31st 11:59:59 PM (PDT). That's almost 4 1/2 days.
