If you noticed I said it is over half what a retail game sells for today.I don't play Destiny so I have no idea what that game is .Yes I know MWO is SOOOOO complete right after the Sept 17 13' Live Launch
I'm talking about the shift in game production.
Destiny is a AAA title on the PS4 and Xbox One. Its an Online-only, multiplier only, I don't think you can even really solo the game as it will find you two random people to group with, like it or not. It had limited content on day one, was buggy as heck, and was repetitive. Some bugs were found and instantly exploited by players (there was this cave were you could shoot in it all day, kill all the baddies there and scrape up the loot w/out ever really being in any kind of conflict) and they had to put some embarrassing fixes in. Bungie spent probably 50 times what PGI has in three years on Destiny, they had a very expensive marketing campaign including choice spots on various sport broadcasts. They even promised a PC version, but made so much money at launch they laughed off the PC port while bathing in solid gold bath tubs with hot and cold running diamonds.
Titanfall is also in this category, only was less buggy on day one, and plenty of DLC to buy after the fact. But has a PC version at least.
This is how AAA games are done now. Its the norm for the industry. Flogging PGI for doing what everybody else is doing is kinda silly.
Now that I'm done doing the history thing, here's my opinion: It all sucks. We players are asked to pay a lot of money for a lot less content than we used to get 10 years ago.
Yes I've paid a pretty penny for this game, I'll admit it (you can see in my forum tag), but it was my play money to blow, so it was my choice. I don't complain about it. When PGI makes things I want and I feel the price is fair, I buy them, when I don't (clans) I skip it.
