How about AC10 with 40 shots of ammo (400 damage worth), 2xSL for backup and XL170 for speed?
Using quirks & modules: 5.9 DPS using AC10 alone, 83 seconds of continuous fire to overheat (using SHS)

That's significantly better than using PPC with 16 DHS (3,7 DPS max, 73 seconds to overheat)

AC/10 (12 tonnes+2 tonnes of ammo) > PPC (7+6tonnes of heatsinks)

UM-R63 AC10 2xSL

You can drop the two SL for a XL180 or another tonne of ammo.

With the AC10 ammo increase (really hope AC20 gets boosted to 10/ton) I've been able to be successful with only two tons of ammo (still have to mind my shots).

I don't think it's actually worth to install DHS instead of Ferro. You lose 0.5 tonnes that way (19 points of armor). And the AC10 does not need DHS.

You are right, DHS isn't really needed, I'm just too cheap to downgrade :)

Good thing I've received two R63s :-)
One has DHS, the other does not :-)

Im liking the Urbie, 4 pulse and MG or a single AC10 are my go to builds, have had some great PUG games in it, though in group matches it doesn't seem to do quite as well.

I consider the UrbanMech to be half of a dual-AC10 Jägermech, honestly. It's never going to be able to run ring-around-the-Rosie like a Jenner or a Raven or a Locust. It just isn't that maneuverable or that fast even with the biggest XL you can fit in it. But it does pack a big peacemaker and it isn't afraid to use it.

And running rings around the enemy like a Locust...that's really not who Urbie is, is it? We all want to pigeonhole mechs by weight class. It's a 30-tonner, so it must be fast and the only way to play it is the Circle of Doom, right? Well, maybe not. In my opinion, the OP's videos encapsulate the true Urbie attitude. Getting in and mixing it up with 'mechs three times your size. It's a Jäger's annoying little brother, tagging along to the party. It's the irritating little love-child of an Atlas and a Commando. It's the light 'mech for people who don't like light 'mechs. It's anti-meta, anti-hipster, and an MWO iconoclast in almost every way.

I think that's why people don't have meh opinions about Mr. Urbie, they either love him or they want to kill him with fire.

well finally broke down and tried out a boom urbie. xl 100 engine, ac20, 2.5 tons of ammo and a SL- 144 armor, std heat sinks. first match- 3 kills, 1 assist and 158dmg with 6 shots left. we won 12-7. even managed a preventive base camp (since I was still closest when the cap started :) ) kill. mist linx had its back to mah boomstick...

I love my Urbies. You definitely don't want to play it like a fast light, but if you pick a friendly 100t assault and use them for mobile cover, then fire at what they fire at/dissuade enemy lights with your BFG, the sum of the two is greater than its parts.

When people have a dwf/kgc/as7/etc firing at them, the Urbie at their feet doesn't draw much attention.
