I'm running that with an ERPPC, and a STD155 engine: UM-R60 (FF armor would allow me to push up the armor to max, but I'm being cheap till I settle on builds)

It's surprisingly effective. No huge damage games, but several 3-4 kill matches.

Screenshots or it never happened.....

3 or 4 kills in his urbie....pff! 12 or GTFO! :P

I know, I know, I'm the first to say that screencaps mean nothing in build discussions, but really... this is TONS of fun.

I love Standard engines on Urbanmechs. It's so easy to tank damage (not that XL's are vulnerable, it's a tiny mech) and really a STD155 comes in at 11.5t pod space at almost-full armor and 92.1kph, while the XL180 is 13.5t and 106.9kph.

Also, the STD155 is really cheap, which helps because I reflexively gave all my urbies DHS and such and now am poor :)

Dont you need 6 DHS for the 155? Or is it 4? Either way my urby has NO POD SPACE (because he doesnt have pods) Sure wish i had a clan urbie like you winters! lolz ^_^

1LPL 2 ML and 3 MG's on the UM-R63 has been my best loadout.

5 kills in the 4mg/lpl/ml build in the second scoreboard.

4. Included DHS = rating/25, so a 150-170 rated engine gets you 6 TruDubs. Just need to add 4 more dhs.

Not on topic but something funny that happened in a drop last night. We're on Crimson and most of the assaults spawn on the peninsula on the B line. They start hauling ass to link up with the main group but one of them seems to stay behind. We have 2 Dire Wolves and a Warhawk running as fast as they can for the ramp and this guys is being left in the dust !

Someone makes a comment in chat that " XYZ must be afk" only for XYZ to respond "No I'm running as fast as I can!" That's when the team noticed he was in a stock Urbie.

The only complaint I'm seeing really is a lack of twist speed due to how twist works relative to engine speed. We're largely pretty happy with what we got.

I have said this multiple times for literally years (ever since people were calling for the UrbanMech) - the UrbanMech is not a competitive chassis. It just ISN'T. People in this thread are talking about how it isn't "Tanky" enough... Seriously? 30 Tons. People could have experimented with the UrbanMech's durability for literally years by just playing a Spider and cutting out the engine.

Sadly, the Spider makes a better Urbanmech, with a faster torso twist, and articulated arm.
You and dozens of other people, over and over and over. What's funny though is that nobody expected a tier 1 god-light that would dethrone the FS9. Nobody. What were expected was what we got: a viable light for normal play. You sounded like an idiot harping on then as if anyone cared if it'd be optimal in high level play, and you still sound like that now.

- Too fragile for my liking despite the decent hitboxes, but maybe because I haven't really found what works yet. It should be the tankiest 30-tonner possible. Could also be because haters just focus on any urbies they see first. Needs some armor quirk, but if one does well with the current armor, it will seriously improve skillset for survivability on all other mechs.

Structure quirks are in already. Can't very well make it a Light with near Medium armor now can they. ;)

We've dubned the lpl, 2ml, 3mg build "The Shame Hammer" because it's a humiliation beat down.

491 damage 3 kills 5 assists

This is a match I really really wish I had software to record it as it was such a classic

3 kills were

Victor which was slain by me Pop Tarting ! how Ironic is that, I fear another JJ nerf incoming..

Second was a Can brother and I feel a little ashamed for that one but to appease the urbanites

The third was a srm timberwolf which I pealed ST off of never more than 70 meters away Boom !

Alas I fell after taking a stalker ST to attacks by another urby and a spider can't remember who got the death blow.

sad thing is the after the KC which got around 450 damage only one other shaved the right side of 300.

could this possibly be the first time a losing team has been carried by an URBY

Alas without pictorial evidence it will have to remain sadly uncomfirmed, but its quite possibly the proudest moment of my life !

It makes the 5 kill 1k damage in my hunchie 4G shallow in comparison

and the 1300 damage in my DW a mere shadow of an achievement

The Good:

Its the UrbanMech. Proof that finally over all adversity we got a Gaming company to listen to us and Give us what we wanted.
And we spoke with our Wallets.
I did a few matches stock for the LoL's , since Hard mode seemed fun. Only 2 kills but I will remember those two kills more than the Ace of Spades I got in my Stalker.
Upgraded fully this thing is not the 'standard (I hate the word Meta being used wrong)' build to be ultra competitive but it can hold its own for sure.
Once the Hype dies down and people don't focus it out, it will shine even more.
360 Degrees is too much fun. Running full tilt away from someone shooting them is awesome. And it is almost Impossible to be flanked if you are nimble enough.

The Mediocre:

You get focused because you are in this Urbanite. But rejoice, while they take time to shoot at you, hopefully your team melts them (i've assisted in more kills this way in 1 day than almost my whole time playing, it needs to be an Achievment).

Armor is Thin, but that is to be expected. Hitboxes while good will only keep you alive for so long

The Bad:
Its an addiction.
I have 4, and 9 free Mech bays.....the Mech Bays want more Urbies.
You got Paid Once PGI, give us DD and some other made up versions and let us have...Fun.

I legged a locust and an LRM boat got the kill.

I then died in a fire to the next 3 mechs I found.

Story of my life.

That's pretty much how my Urbie Challenge attempt went. AC20, check, ultra-light engine, check. Slower than a legged Atlas? Might be a close race...

Lurched over to a firefight in Jungle, over by the twin peaks. I see a Direwolf with red armor in CT, so I plant one on him, right in the chest. I know I surprised the hell out of him because he ran. He turned and used his mostly undamaged arms to soak damage, and went around a rock. We all stop looking in his direction, and turn to battle elsewhere. I guess he figured that the coast was clear because he came back the same way he left. And I was still hiding behind that tree, because...Urbie in a ******* jungle, hello? So when I shot him in the chest the second and third time he was looking all hurt and upset, staggering on his way to death, like they do. So just when I'm about to claim my prize and justify a new paintjob...lo and behold, my way is blocked by some tree vines. I see the friendly missile sign light up, and then some lrm boat steals my kill.

I felt so bad I leapt straight into the jaws of a lurking Timberwolf.
Said "screw this". Changed my paint anyway, and upgraded the engine and options.
After that someone called me crazy for leading the charge and chasing a Clan assault. Yes I died in seconds. But there's something about an Urbie that makes you feel about 7 or so meters tall.

Overall? A ton of fun in a 30 tonner. I have the most fun when I run this. Seriously,I enjoy this more than my Huginn,Grid Iron or Pirates Bane.

I have a different build to all of my Urbies of Doom. I generally average 3-400 damage a match in them. The only exception is my AC2 spammer that generally barely breaks 200(that I'm gonna mess more with)

It's slow stock,in fact,it's so laughable that I didn't take them out till I funded upgrades.
DHS,Endo was about all I needed. I generally run a Standard 180 across 3/4 of them. One has an Xl100.

A bad pilot will hate it. A good pilot will love it. It's so small that some assault mechs can't hit you if you stand in front of them.

The only bad part about them honestly is how bad stock is.. you have to save up before piloting one and bringing it up to speed.

The Good:
*Hitboxes
*Style (cockpit is an awesome place to be)
*Mostly ignored...mostly

The Bad:
* Would have liked better accell and decell rates.
* Where is the selection of engines from STD 60 to STD 95? Same for XL engines. (Although I couldn't see using it).
* Complaining from some team mates.

The Ugly:
* Well...the mech's appearance inside and out. That's what makes it awesome though. So much character. Awesome.

Then switch the Lpl and mpl for a LL + ml, and some extra heat sinks and jump jets.

But your original build was subpar and a half ton underweight.

Excuse me? Are you trying to tell me how to build MY Mechs?
Well? Are you?

Day 2:

Still on the R60. Autocannons just doesnt cut it for me. I caved and went to energy for primary weapon.

2 PPC was interesting, and was hilarious when the third alpha shuts you down.

Then decided to try out 2 LPL. The build just seems to gel with me. Had a 3 kill game, all targets were moderately damaged. Unfortunately ended with a 6-12 loss.

The funniest part? Still using SHS.

Basiced accel, decel and twist rate made the bugger more fun.

It's still ridiculous to get focused on as soon as you appear though.

Heck, in 2 matches, I've gotten artied twice per game even though I was the only mech there. It's ridiculous.

I got two games in then they did the 8pm system reset which crashed my game and corrupted files - it took almost four hours running the repair tool to get the client to start again. For the games I did play, I tried one stock, one with a std 180 engine/meds/MG's, and one with xl 180, meds, AC5. The last config was working the best, but it was what I had when the game crashed so I don't have any final data. Overall I think the Urbie is fun, but I'm still feeling burnt out on the game, especially trading about 20 minutes of playing/lab time for four hours of repair. Meh.
