I felt like FRR did not need my help anymore so I rejoined Marik to continue on with my goals and tour of the IS

I have made 3 drops since I rejoined, talk about a dead area.

I think leaving the FRR might have been a mistake, did I mention its boring to fight IS vs. IS after being on the clan front

Things I would change

1) On map reset I would break with lore and have the invasion corridor hit Liao and Marik
(Every time the map is reset the invasion corridor would change randomly)

2) Deep interdiction missions (you could also call them scouting on Intel missions)
let the clan attack a planet deep inside Marik or Davion if they win the planet in a 3 day time frame they get a big bonus and they get to keep the planet for 30 days

3) Allow Marik, Davion or whomever to fight on the clan front (they don't have to change loyalties (I mean attack)

4) Increase the bonuses for clan (there Mechs and equipment cost more so why not)

5) Start developing a CW economy

Can anyone think of other ways to spice things up and keep CW alive?

In lore the planet Wolcott was a point that Kurita could use to launch attacks and was not able to be captured. How about some of those planets right out side of inner sphere such as Cambridge defense station that sounds like a inner sphere old star league era base to me. Make some planets like that say one for the davion Liao and Marik so they have a way to attack the clans. Some of those worlds that are not inner sphere and clans could be pirate worlds to fight over. Increase rewards for people waiting for CW to drop.

this would be extremely boring for the north, though. why not just spread the clans out in a circle around the map, so that everyone has two clans to fight and every clan has two IS to fight?

We've found things to be similar...right now we're doing another "whirlwind tour!" of all the IS houses for a week to get some of our new recruits free mechbays...and after being on Clan fronts for so long the action is DECIDEDLY less...active.

Looking forward to getting through Marik and Davion...and then moving back to somewhere we can hit the Clanners. And then eventually tour all the clans for free mechbays, too :)

STUFF. MOAR STUFF!

Im an old BT fan, but am also open to not going with lore for the best of the game. With that said I still think there needs to some sort or continuity and real mechanics. For me I have a hard time with how this could really happen based on where the clan homeworlds are (to the north) and how their supply lines would work if attacking for a prolonged amount of time from the South or even from the East or West. If you begin to change where the clan homeworlds are, then you doing more then minor changes to canon and would really change major events in the universe.

But I do agree with the basic premise that there is no really good way for Liao, Marik and Davion players to get involved as a FACTION on the clan front (other then fighting their way to the front via planet conquest). I can currently go hit the clan front now and defend or attack, but it would be for Steiner, FRR or the Combine. Most of the CW drops I do are on the clan front, but its always a mixed bag of faction PUGs for the good of another house.

Maybe the solution will come in the form of things like Operation Bulldog as a CW Event, or something similar. Should be interesting how and if they address this.

I did a couple IS vs IS matches while on a short merc run - and I agree it's a total snoozefest complete ez mode engaged sort of thing. It does shed a lot of light on why you see pilots from those areas complaining about how clans are op though, when so many of your matches are on easy mode then you jump up into matches that present some challenge you are going to be way out of practice and think everything is unbalanced.

When you get bored of it though, come on back to the FRR for some more challenging battles.

because surrounding the enemy so you can metacamp them doesn't apply to galactic invasion strategies

Pffft, it does when the planet counter is broken. See "last event weekend." Surrounding the enemy and metacamping them TOTALLY worked on the galactic map. Lol.

I was in house Liao for a long time before becoming a loyal FRR , I don't like the southern houses cause they just don't do anything . I would log on and see that Liao was not attacking anyone, it was at 2 am in the morning when the Russian TCAF was that their was an attack going on. And the funny thing is Liao doesn't care about the clans in lore they did the least of any house to fight them so you would think that Liao would be s great place if you don't want to fight clans .....but nope I was stuck defending Steiner and kurita worlds as s Liao
