JJs need a buff, idk if heat is the way.
Please implement MWLL\Mechcommander style JJs. AKA real JJs.
^^^ this needs to be one of our rallying cries to PGI.
Maybe someday Bishop or someone will worship at PGI's twitter temple until they bless us with a half assed workaround.
I dont have the patience to suck that much D(doubleheatsink) just to get russ\paul to pay attention.

As long as you've been playing and you don't know anything about how the game works, that's...sad.
Engine weights...not what you think there...might wanna research a bit before you say anything else...just saying...
Again with the personal insults. Get over yourself. I haven't called you out for not understanding how this game plays. Or for being an out of touch grandpa. I've just disagreed with what seems to be a different opinion on what makes for good gameplay. I've been playing MechWarrior since the 1989 Activision game but we shouldn't have to get into a pissing contest over who understands the game better based on years with the franchise.
Maybe I was unclear about the engine weights comment: the table top rules limited your choice of engine to ones that fit the hex system. That's obviously not the case here except for the Clan mechs.
You want to say that this game would play better if it more strictly adhered to rules made for a dice game, go ahead. You'd still be wrong but at least it'd make sense as an opinion. As opposed to the L2P BS.
You want more examples of how far this game strayed from table top? We have double and sometimes triple the rate of fire. And doubled armor. And the skill tree. And modules. And consumables. And a bunch of weapons missing. And a weird hybrid of multiple ECM types. And SRMs that fire more like MRMs. And no non-mech combat. And no melee. And no DFA unless you bump into a mech with a cherry red CT. All because PGI thinks it makes for better gameplay.
Just like making it possible to cool while jumping if you have enough heat sinks.

I was actually referring to how the engines in MWO work only, not the rest, but nice try. TT rules for speed dictate engine size because there's NO fractions in movement, it's 4 or it's 4, there's no 4.1, 4.2, 4.5, so there's no POINT putting a different size engine in that doesn't actually change your movement rate a full point. MWO uses a straight kph system, so that extra weight going up a size or two will actually give you a speed change.
I'm also quite aware of all the other changes MWO made to TT rules, same as the MW titles have all done over the years, only MPBT on GEnie didn't do that, but it turned based, so....
One thing they've ALL followed however was the TT rule about JJ causing heat, guess you missed that in all your years of playing them? Only MW4 didn't require heat management, heat in it was a joke, one of it's many flaws.
DFA isn't in the game currently because collisions were so fubar in early CB that they had to be removed. Russ has confirmed multiple times that collisions WILL be put back in once they get them working right. They didn't remove them because it makes for better gameplay, they removed them because they were totally effed up. Again, do a little research Mizeur before you go making statements about things you don't understand.
Once again, JJ heat has been in all the previous titles, even MW4 had it, not that it mattered in MW4, but it was there, and it's been in MWO for quite a while, it's not something new you know.

By harnessing the power of a 'Mech's fusion engine to superheat air or another suitable fluid, Jump Jets allow a BattleMech to briefly overcome gravity and rocket short distances over the battlefield.
This just means it's taking existing energy(heat) and converting it, not producing more more. One could say that using JJ's puts a load on the motor but then it seems like heat from running/twisting/whatever should increase heat at nearly the same rate.
OP, I'm not sure how much support you're going to find as some folks just don't like JJ'ing mechs and want them penalized at every front while others truly don't mind the heat. Personally I find it a TINY bit overboard in some cases. I mean running a single HS Vindicator got you to around 20% heat from JJ's alone on Therma... But that being said it's a fairly minor thing and I'd rather see JJ's get a slight mobility buff. Esp for the big guys.
