PPC are not useless, just a bit non uniform from mech to mech.
JKD in mechwarrior one could assume it to mean: Know yourself, know your mech, know your opponent, know your opponents mech.. Use this knowledge to accentuate your strengths against their weakness.
Jeet Jixie Do (Way of the intercepting Machine)?
They move so slowly that you can dodge them as they come at you. So, tell me, how are they good?

They can be made to intercept an opponents path. They can be shot also at opponents who are not attentive or who are put in positions in which they are unable to escape. They can be shot at opponents sides or back and as EvilCow has kindly pointed out (ERPPCs) can be used point blank.
It's still out of balance. Compared to the Banshee or a Thunderbolt (class lower, but still good)
How can you ignore that? A Stalker can tank effectively more then any mech, it has a high profile, speed and fairly small hitboxes.
Take that in account before you justify a 6 LL Stalker...
More suprised by the amount of people who are saying it's fine with a straight face.
What is wrong with you?
I am not saying that we should nerf it, but saying it's fine is having a tunnelvision. Which apart from the underlying problem is convergence which makes it 'OP' as it is.

Completely disagree, in my opinion the Banshee is a slightly better mech than the Stalker (balanced if you take the fact it is 10 tons heavier into account), but by all means, buff my favourite mech.
Stalkers are slower, have less high mounted hardpoints, and have no shield arms. All they have going for them is a really tanky front profile, flank them and they lose a ST instantly and turn into a 62kph mech with 3LLs.

The Banshee has other capabilities. It's a bit higher in size (Has also some high mounts) but it's slightly different then the Stalker. The Banshee loses the (empty) arms fairly fast, unlike the Stalker.
How many people are piloting the Assault class wrong?
Not to mention the amount of people who aim for the cockpit on a Stalker. Multiple issues.
More then enough.
Just like some other laser mechs there will be always some certain point that it will get nerfed just because if you see one you can tell what build it's running.

Dude what are you smoking, the Banshee can tank hella damage assuming you don't go full idiot and strip armor off your huge gorilla arms, with proper twisting you can actually survive the combined fire of a whole lance of heavies for a good 30 seconds, long enough for any half competent team to do something to wreck said lance.

Do you even read?
I said the Banshee is in balance due his hitboxes, the Stalker is another story.
We still have to deal with convergence which does not has a solution on the short term.

Erm, the point is the Banshee tanks better than the stalker, at least in the fact that it can absorb a lot more damage before it loses firepower (done right you can take around 200 dmg before you start losing weapons due to the massive empty shield arms.) It just doenst facetank as well because the Banshee has an easy to hit CT from the front, unlike the stalker.

You dont have to facetank.
Yeah, the Banshee does the whole Atlas "Alpha, show them shield arms and beefy sides, repeat" tanking way better than the Atlas does.
What does Jeet Kune Do have to do with anything? Curious from someone who actually has training in JKD.
Correct me if I'm wrong... But I believe I've seen Joseph mention elsewhere that he's studied in JKD... The inference is that his agility belies his mass secondary to martial arts.
I'm talking about sustained laser PEW, there isn't a mech in the game, not Timber, not Crow, not Warhawk that matches it.
My testing disagrees.
Simple observations
STK-4N:
* Alpha hit 72% heat cap
* 13 to 13.5s to cool to 0% after alpha
* 6 half alphas in 8s, overheat shutdown on the 6th volley
WHK-A
* Alpha hit 64% heat cap
* 10 to 10.5s to cool to 0% after alpha
* 6 half alphas in 10s, no overheat shutdown on 6th volley
TBR-Laser Vomit
* Alpha hit 51% heat cap
* 8s to cooldown to 0 after alpha
* 6 half alphas in 10s, overheat on the 6th volley
Some thoughts
STK-4N:
+ Has superior (high) arm mounts that benefit 66% of it's firepower
+ Alpha & Half-Alpha do slightly higher damage (2 extra points and 1 extra point respectively)
+ Faster rate of fire allows for 6x half alphas in 8s.
- Is slower
- Cools off slower
- Has less range
- Has a lower total heat cap, and therefore shuts down faster
WHK:
+ Is faster
+ Has better torso yaw range
+ Has a higher heat cap allowing for 6x half alphas without shutting down
+ Cools off faster
+ Has more range
+ Has targeting computer
- Has all firepower lower mounted
- Has a slower rate of fire from lack of quirks and
- CLPLs have slightly longer burn time (0.15s longer)
** Unknown quantity: WHK-C version will be fully asymmetrical.

Immediate point to note is that IS LL ghost heat is still at 3 in the training grounds, so its hotter there than it would be in game.
